No, the extra rebate is only applicable bet the 2 checkpoints and not for others. This is just to allow faster clearance at the JB (To SGP) and SGP (To JB) Checkpoints. Dun compare Larkin as end fare stage is 38 while Kota Raya is 32, hence a dist gap meaning higher fares as it is a dist related sv. As for your comment abt 20cents more, I dun think so as you are as if reboarding 160 again. It is like taking 170 (Red) then Blue plate. But I will seek SBST clarrification on this come monday and I will reply to you ASAP.

regarding the 160-160 being +20 cents, tat was in comparison to transfering to 170X (160-170X), where u could get ur johor checkpoint to kota raya ii ter sector for free (3 stages = $0.63 but tis is waived). but if u took 160-160 u could be charged extra for the 3 fare stages (like u happen to be travelling for 8.0 stages to johor checkpoint on 160 so fare is $0.83 but 11.0 stages to kota raya ii will be $1.03 by ez-link).

if tis prob does exists, debugging will not be easy since the route configuration they are looking at is very complicated (4 branches: larkin, kota raya ii, queen st & jurong east int).

Again, as what you have said earlier, it is based on that you are as if reboarding for Sv 160 case, it is like those CACC services. As for 170X, I think better ask. But to get the free fares, play smart

I think they have done extensive testing on this as this service surely was not borned just overnight?

Have you calculated abt 170 – 160 – 170 or 160 – 170? It will be -$0.10 right? There is another loophole, 160 – 170X connection, it will be free but proability will be low as you won’t be that lucky very day as you can’t pick as the buses are all packed.

CW service was already approved by LTA and Malaysian authorities and was expected to start service tis month (from wat i can recall). try browsing past topics to look for the topic i've started on tis report that came out on the chinese newspapers.

I dun think it will be a threat to 160 as it's compeitor is the Maju 262. SJE will be in trouble but Queen St terminal cannot accommdate another service already. I think will be next mth, Sept (Dun forget, today is still Aug)

yeah, i actually meant aug, but i dun see it coming yet.

as for CW's JIE-2nd Linnk-Larkin svc, it shld be popular to malaysian workers at tuas, considering it is a malaysian company, it is more convenient and direct that to go to jurong east to take 160. but before it comes, 160 will be helpful in a sense.

I dun know abt this new one, but CW1 seems not be to popular with Malaysians as they do have rebates aft taking MRT using the card for taking 170. Fares will then be $0.88 CW1 is $1.30. In fact, many Malaysians prefer 170 because of this

The CW Jurong East one may not be popular to those to Larkin as they are making a round at Gelang Patah and Skudai bef to Larkin

and the $0.63 cents for singapore to johor checkpoint leg (170 - 160 - 170) happens to start at kranji mrt.

if the ez-link cards do not consider taking the same svc twice during a trip when handling rebates, ur johor checkpoint to larkin leg on 170 could well be just $0.83.

cost-conscious commuters will actually be interested in this.

I think they will as they have already given you $0.38 which is $0.13 more already. As for why I asked abt 170 - 160 - 170 as you may take 160 at Woodlands Checkpoint to go across JB Checkpint

For 160 or CW2 (I put it), SMRT will be the biggest losers. With 950, they lose more as they are not at the main passengers area - Kranji. Who wants to stop at Woodlands and rely on 1 bus? SMRT lose out as commuters can just direct taking 160 from Jurong

But, Choa Chu Kang, Bt Batok residents stand to gain as they have a faster way to Woodlands Centre at the expense of SMRT (The terrority 'master')

Sorry, I just found out that fares were pre-empted to the Sv 170 fares for 160 to avoid lower payment of fares (Asked that friend of mine). Have to double confirm offically again

for CACC, passengers reboard the same bus and same service.

for causeway, passengers reboard the same company and might be diff/same service.

same concept, just that its 2 diff services for the latter, regardless of distance travelled before this.
