With reference to Transitlink e-service guide, service 183 will not stop inside Kent Ridge terminal for boarding and alighting, unlike other loop services 95 and 189. This explains why service 183 serves the pair of stops outside Kent Ridge terminal, together with service 188.

From what I see, it seems that the bus u-turns at Harbour Dr and Clementi Rd junction. I think SBST may want to extend it PSA PPT later on

a few possibilites about TransitLink e-guide's route:

they printed it wrongly and thought that kent ridge terminal services need to stop at the bus stop and the terminal itself is not available for boarding and alighting facilities, or
183 will not allow boarding or alighting facilities at kent ridge terminal, only using it to u-turn, or
183 may be extended to PSA PPT, which i think is not likely due to demand.

Jurong East int said that it doesnt call at kent ridge terminal.

we went down today.

1) KR doesnt have 183 service plate

2) 183 guide indicates that it does NOT stop at Kent Ridge terminal

3) green martian @ JRE confirmed 183 does not pick pax up @ KR terminal

as for where it u turns, thats for SBST to settle.

service_238 is right. Kent Ridge Terminal is not the stop for 183. This is a reliable source. I have been there myself also. If you don't believe, find out yourself. It has been already confirmed that the guides are accurate as of today and 183 SHOULD NOT have entered the terminal.

wat buses were used for svc 183? anyone took it today? and anyone took the bus together when it looped back, and knows if it loops at Kent Ridge Terminal (without stopping) or all the way at Harbour Dr?

i think i'll try it tml since my ayer rajah camp is very near kent ridge area.

about why 507 was withdrawn, i thought about it and came up with this answer. PTC probably felt 507 was duplicating the MRT system too much and snatching away customers who would normally have taken the Bus-MRT option (24x or 33x to BNL/JUR to RFP/TPG/HBF) which was desired due to govt's preference for MRT. Worse, it probably also felt it was duplicating Svc 97 and 197 also, since pax could have taken a 33x to JEI and transferred to 97 & 197 to Science Pk I, and 97 to Alexandra and HBF. i feel since 507 is doing well, SBST will for no reason want to withdraw it, except for another party like PTC.

i have been to science park rd. there are bus stops already, and they are used by internal shuttle bus and the shuttle bus to clementi mrt, both provided by acsendas. they charge only $0.60 for the shuttle to clementi mrt. i wonder if svc 183 will be competitive enough, since its fare will be $0.83 and it is not express.

The service is provided by ComfortBus. Ascendas manages Science Park I and II.

Service 183 buses use the SBSL livery buses from ex-Express 507. In other words, the buses of Express 507 are now deployed on service 183.

This is what happens to service 183 buses at Kent Ridge:

Along Clementi Rd, the bus will turn into the bus bay at the stop just before Kent Ridge terminal, regardless of whether there are passengers boarding/alighting here or not. This is because the bus captain needs to flip over the side desto (side desto is both-sides printed) for the change of direction.

The bus will then turn left into Kent Ridge terminal, but no boarding and alighting is allowed here, the bus will then exits the terminal by turning right into Clementi Rd and call at the bus stop opposite the terminal, and then continue to Jurong East interchange.

Pathetic 183 only have 4 of 507 buses, info given by freakybuses. On the first day of operation, the bus we took was callled in by Green martian into KRT and there was a 183 guide stick on the pole of the bus stop in KRT.
