i wonder if commuters will voice their disappointment at having to pay more for their transport needs. but if we look at the calculation, the transfer rebate (assuming they do not live along 183 route) will cover the increase in fares due to taking 183 (25 cents rebate vs 23 cents rise = 2 cents savings!).

No, if it is $0.83, aft rebate from transfer (W MRT) is $0.58 So it is $0.02 cheaper. You cannot take Comfortbus with this as they pay cash

anyway, BCs are required to enter '183A' for the service number on the IDFC, so JRE-KRT is like a shortworking trip. since they made metal destos, i may not be extending it soon. also, they might want to wait for science park rd to be linked up (u/c now) with zehnder rd and south buona vista rd since i dun see any roundabout there.

No, all loop services have a "A" prefix to state its direction. You can't have a 'L' as it is akward as you have 'A' and 'B'

It may just go to Science Pk II (It is called that) and not Sth Buona Vista Rd. 183 is as if like a feeder to other trunk services to serve "ulu" places like industries at Toh Guan Rd East.

no no, it's not 183 for one direction and 183A for backwards direction, but it's 183A for the whole loop. for IDFC, loop services do not state a direction but merely follow a single-directional route and turning back midway. or else the VLS problem of loop svcs being detected as being on opposite side of a narrow road won't occur since the direction & hence location would have been clear to the IDFC.

the number 183A suggests it is a supplementary route to a originally extended route.

as for south buona vista rd, it may be a way for the buses to turn back by turning into science park rd from south buona vista rd and exiting back at pasir panjang rd. i suggested tis possibility cos they happen to be building an entrance into science park rd via south buona vista rd.

They do use A on the computer (Ez-link). A is for entire journey and not for half way, if that's so, there will be 'B'
