SBS9845X SG If the VSO is called the volvo B10TL, then what are the earlier olympians call? Volvo B???? Also, i noticed that the VSO is extremely noisy at the bottom deck, especially at the back. It gets on your nerves. Older DDs like VO and LOs do not have so loud and noisy engines. WHy?
leeJZ SG VOs are called Volvo Olympians, no BXXX name. The noice is possibly due to the gearbox - the VSO uses the same engine (DH10A) as the 96xx VOs.
Yusry SG The noise comes from the radiator. VO and LO are simply VO and LO. Only VSO is also known as B10TL
Superbus SG Some LOs do have the noisy radiator, more deafening inside the bus as compared to outside, in contrast to the VSO. One good example is SBS9046K. The Trident currently operating in HK, Singapore, Canada and NYC is known as Trident 3.

iveco SG Why is it that 166 has no VSO? It links AMK with the West via the city. No doubt 133 also goes to the city, but it covers less areas than 166. Wonder if AMDEP can spare a couple of VSOs for 166 to boost its presence in the West. After all, even 147 had Tridents before.
service_238 SG This boils down to deployment. AMDEP deploys 6 buses for 166 while BBDEP deploys the rest. Usually a VSO covers an LO timeslot. Of the 6 buses, 3 SD, 3 DD, SD consists of 1 WA Merz and 2 CAC Merz, all 3 DD are LOs (9051 9195 and another LO)
iveco SG I thought 166 LOs came from Bukit Batok. Anyway, 9143 can be swapped for a VSO. Am I right to say that the Mercs are 197 and 3875?
SBST390 SG BB deployment is the strider, VO3X (all Gens) and occasional JBlised MK3 (cameo or perm i am not sure)
leeJZ SG JBlised buses are cameos, as SBST has 60 frames of which some are not needed for 170. Dun forget BB also deploys 166's sole Mk4 DM3500, SBS 2712 S.
iveco SG LO2x? Where is it deployed? Isn't it supposed to have been sold? Furthermore 166 is Full AC. Six come from AMK (197, 3875, 9051, 9143, 9195 and another O405 DM CAC) but how many come from BBT?
leeJZ SG I think he means the LO 2X preserved near the Orchard Skate Park, around Grange Rd / Scotts Rd junction with Orchard Boulevard.
