Yes, introduced on 28 June 1992, on the same day service 57 (Bishan - Sin Ming) was withdrawn.

Why do they want to withdraw the 605? Css disappearing soon?

sbst275 SG

They claim demand is dropping…

carbikebus SG

SMRT bus always gave this kind of rubbish statements if they want to withdrawn CSS services. Sad

Bus Stops' Notice:

Withdrawl of CSS 605
from Sunday, 5th September 2004

CSS 605 which operates from Sin Ming Road Terminal to Bukit Merah Interchange will be withdrawn from Sunday, 5th September 2004. The last day of its operation is Saturday, 4th September 2004.

We thank all customers for their support and regret (for) any inconvenience caused.

leeJZ SG

Why not extend it to something like Yishun and convert to SMRTB service? 608 is quite popular, seen @ Upp Thomson Rd during morning peak myself.

sbst275 SG

603 was this case. Passengers were crusing as they made the frequency at 30-40 mins to justify. There are many places that only 603 serves

sbst275 SG

It is 605 BTW

They can't extend the sv due to regulation as they are scheme B rts

605 demand is very low during off peak with like 10 passengers at any time

SBS9845X SG

Places like Chancery Lane...now all the bus stops there gone..

iveco SG

607 used to connect Moulmein Rd to Bencoolen St and Shenton Way. Now the links are gone. Very soon, Maxwell Road will see its bus stops vanish.

SBST390 SG

605 demand is really low... even during peak hours.... best is a half full

tranquilice SG

Bye Bye to Sin Ming Rd terminal and almost bye bye to SSB. Sad

tranquilice SG

CSS service 608 will be the next and the last to go. Sad

sbst275 SG

No, they are using ADSHEL BS.

sbs&tibs SG

Can convert it to TIBS and amend it so no excuse of withdrawing 608.

^tamago^ SG

dun think Tibs will find it feasible. it's not a money-tree or a cash-cow. Sad expect to see it vanish in about 6 to 12 months from now (my estimation).

tranquilice SG

I have a feeling that SSB want to withdraw service 608 ASAP. Neutral

iveco SG

608 should be given to SBS in exchange for 39.

^tamago^ SG

no. if i'm SBS, i wun take tat. i will ask SSB to close down. after all, 39 is very profitable, even if 608 runs in SBS territory.

leeJZ SG

Yes, 39 has affected 969's connecting traffic to other regions, esp the Changi and Pasir Ris area.
