SBST has excess NAC Scanias and dont know what to do with them. That's why they're deployed on some FAC services, especially feeders. It's a good thing although TPY feeders are FAC, none of them was deployed an NAC bus before. Smile

Wait, wasn't BRAM the one with excess NAC N113CRBs? They should have converted some more, earliest rego I know of is SBS 3640.

I agree with 9818,

HQ has alot of excess NAC scanias, that's why they gave 90 an NAC fleet on most of the days and borrow other buses like 8, 157 to 90 on Sundays/ Saturdays or RSAF open houses.

If you don't believe, go to TPY Int and take note of the rego and the type during both peak and off peak.

I Guess the NAC 293 was from service 19. Service 19 doesnt operate on sundays.

I'm based in TPY. It's a rare sight if I see a FAC Scania on 90 on weekdays. Some of the NAC Scanias on 90 include

SBS 3606J did operate on Sv. 410 for a while. Sv. 90 has SBS 3720L as well, don't forget.

Quite possible... 37 only requires 2 or 3 buses for its fleet. In fact, 2 is enough already.

Oh yes, it does operate on Sundays and Public Holidays too. Except its last bus is 7.30pm DAILY.

Most times it operates two, max three DM3500-bodied Mk IVs from Sv. 8 on Sundays. Other days it uses NAC or CAC Scania N113CRBs. One thing I noticed, unless it's absolutely necessary to deploy them, SBST always keeps their NAC fleet in depot on Sat / Sun.

Well, 90 is “famous” as it is the last NAC service in the AMK, Bishan, Serangoon, TPY areas and at HQ. I mean between SBS staff.

Wrong. Sv. 186 is also majority NAC service. Same for Sv. 125

For 186 I am not very sure, but for 125 there is only 1891 serving as NAC buses. It is hard to see it nowadays.

I thought Sv. 125 is mainly a NAC service with about 40% of fleet being O405s? Sv. 186 is majority NAC, a lot of Mk IIs are operating on it, with some DM-bodied Mk IVs and O405s.

For me, it seems like i rarely see Svc 125 having Aircon buses ever since the mark 2s came in in mid-2003.
