Question about Marine Parade SWTs

Why do all the services that loop at Siglap Rd have SWTs from about 10pm - 12am? How about pax wanting to travel outbound from Siglap Rd?

Say I want to take 76 from Marine Parade Rd to Paya Lebar Rd at 11:30pm. There are only 76A buses running from YCK - MP, but no buses towards YCK. Is there really a big difference in demand between the two directions?

if u use ur head n think, NOT ALL trips between 10pm to 12am are SWTs. SWTs operate alongside the normal trips.

say a bus 76 departs YCK at 11pm, by the time it reaches Siglap it would be already about 12mn and pax still have a bus to YCK.

and is demand from YCK - MP significantly more than MP - YCK ?

u go and check up the SBS e guide and see what time the last bus departs from Marine Parade Rd (Mandarin Gdns).

Check for the other services...

The rationale for additional shortworking trips for the last few buses is so that buses that reach Siglap Rd beyond a certain time will not loop back (due to low demand) but will head back to depot.

As far as I know for Sv. 55, there will be Sv. 55 and Sv. 55A trips from 2300 hrs, till 2345h when all subsequent Sv. 55 trips become Sv. 55A.
