To inject more competition to the public bus sector in
Singapore, and in response to overwhelming demand for
more TTS services by the public, Trans Transit will
quicken the takeover process of SMRT services in the
north and northwest district.
As such, TTS will take over SMRT services 169, 175,
178, 605, 608, 961, 962 and 963 with effect from
Monday, 7 June 2004. This is in addition to the
already planned takeover services, namely 39, 161,
168, 106, 184, 187, 188, 853 and 859.
To reduce confusion, the following lists the new and
takeover services by TTS:
Friday, 4/6/2004 - New TTS 729 and 786
Saturday, 5/6/2004 - Takeover SMRT 61, 190, 167, 700,

Sunday, 6/6/2004 - Takeover SMRT 67, 180, 189, 854,
969, 980
Monday, 7/6/2004 - Takeover SBST 39, 161, 168, SMRT

Please be informed that Trans Transit is fully
equipped financially and physically with a modern bus
fleet that has just arrived and a total staff strength
of 400 and increasing every hour. It is our aim to be
the leading public transport provider to the commuting
public. This might cause duplication with major
companies' services like ZYX and CBS but that will be
ironed out soon.
