Hmm....that explains some things, like why there is a bus-stop pole opp the refuse collection centre. I remember last time, the driver would do the 3-point t...

Both Punggol & Bukit Panjang are temporary interchanges

Temporary in a sense that they will be around for the next half decade.

I thought Bt Panjang is to be a perm int?

What is the difference between a terminal and a interchange?
Why can't a interchange be called a terminal since buses terminate there?
Why can't a terminal be called a interchange since you can change buses there(execpt those single service terminal)

Interchange has feeder & trunk services.

Eunos & HarbourFront are exceptions. Eunos used to have feeder services. When they were withdrawn, SBS didnt bother renaming it.

As for HarbourFront, SBS decided to rename it from the WTC Terminal, maybe because there was the NEL opening there.

cck_190 SG

Still, they are temporary, right?

btw, does anyone knows the exact date CCK int opened?

SBS9818A SG

Bukit Panjang should be perm. There is simply not enough space to build another interchange.

cck_190 SG

No, it's temporary as stated on the board during construction. The new one is going to be intergrated with the BTL

Tuas terminal opened on Sunday 19 July 1998.

Upp East Coast terminal opened sometime in Jan 2002. But boarding and alighting activities were allowed there only from Sunday 04 Aug 2002.

Do you know the exact date whereby CCK Int was OFFICIALLY opened?

Changi Airport PTB 2 terminal is more appropriate, as the control office is located there.

http://www.smrt.com.sg/aboutsmrt-milestones.htm Choa Chu Kang MRT station was opened on 10 March 1990, perhaps the bus interchange was opened on the same day?

cck_190 SG

Maybe...but it seems that it's opening wasn't grand. There's no plaque or anything...

Hey there everyone! Smile

Basically... That's because I was too early for a Friend of SMRT event and I met the FSMRT coordinator who asked me to help her pack the goodies bags which were supposed to be given to us, so therefore she asked me to go into the Service Captains' Lounge with her and help pack the stuffs. I saw a lot of service captains inside who asked, "What're these goodie bags for, for us?"... Heehee, the Service Captains were very curious... Cute Razz

cck_190 SG

What were the goodies? Razz

btw, is the FSMRT registration open yet?

Buona Vista should had Boarding & Alighting berths in my honest opinion.I feel that Ghim Moh Terminal is better to shift inside the Carpark slightly.

tranquilice SG

Beside the refuse collection centre? Rolling Eyes

BlessingSatan SG

If that's the case,Forget it! Neutral

When I last went to Ghim Moh terminal in Nov 2003, the alighting point for the 2 services (100 and 111) is beside a rubbish collection centre, and is un-sheltered. The buses will turn into this small road and alight pax beside the rubbish collection centre, and then reversed and went out to the parking lots outside the control office. Luckily the boarding point is not located as the same place as the alighting point or else..... Mr. Green

tranquilice SG

The alighting point is shown by the red star on the map, while the boarding point is where the black arrow points to.
