Boarding service 36 to East Coast Park carpark F3

To get to East Coast Park carpark F3 (bus guide indicates as: after Sea Sports Club), can I board service 36 (in the direction of Changi Airport) and not alight the bus at PTB2? Or do I have to alight the bus at PTB2 and board the next bus?

How is the fare stage caculated in this case? Let say I board outside Suntec Convention Centre, it's fare stage 36; when I alight, it's fare stage 9.

Yes, its possible in most cases. However, the driver would ask you to transfer to the next bus if there is a bus waiting in front at PTB2.

I am not sure about the fare stage, but i have seen pax who are lazy to cross the road and take the bus through PTB1 and 2 and then continue in the opposite direction, so i guess its okay.

It's ok not to alight as the ezlink system will still charge you accordingly Smile

The bus will remain at PTB2 for abt 10min before another driver takes over and drives off.

Note: Press the bell in advanced before u alight. Some drivers tend to continue along the expressway if there's no one at the bus stop and no one sounded the bell.

I noticed it too. That's why when I was at this bus stop, I always have to be observant as I have to make sure the bus captain saw me flagging for the bus before the bus enters the carpark. But there could be a problem at night.

I couldn't understand why a bus stop is built there and there was no bus stop at the opposite side. As far as I known, there are underpasses nearby.

Any idea whether former service 149 used this stop before?

No it didnt. Neither did 390. ECP was denoted as express sector on these 2 services.

SBS16 called at this bus stop in 1995.

Wrong. Drivers on svc 36 are like any other svcs, the drivers change only when their shift had ended. In the meantime, they just enjoy AC in their bus or control office, go to the toilet or have a smoke.

They change drivers. I took Sv. 36 once at around 5pm from PTB1, upon reaching PTB2, the driver removed his belongings and timesheet, and 5 minutes later a new driver came on board. Sv. 36 uses the CLOB pattern. (crew layover on bus)

CLOB just means that the crew change over by changing the bus only when their shift ended ie they take over the bus, The weird modus operandi of this svc means that bus captains change at weird hours. Quite a few buses actually terminate at PTB 2 and shut off the engine and lights after the bus captain asks the pax to board the bus in front. This is also why svc 36 has 3 berths ( 2 near to entrance, 1 at side nearer to corporate entrance ) . Obviously you havent seen 4 svc 36 mk5s parked at the basement b4, with 4 buses remaining there for quite some time. Mr. Green

But most of the journey is express...From Airport to Jln Kolam Ayer....from Jln Toa Payoh to Upp Bukit Timah Rd...all express.

Not all the time. The number of times I took Sv. 36 I wasn't chased down at PTB2, the driver just swapped after 5 mins.
