no rebate on second trip

Hi, I take bus 190 or 187 in the morning for one stop to send someone to school and then I will take 187 in the opposite direction to Woodland to work.

I realized that if the first bus I take is 190, I will have a rebate on the second trip which is normal, BUT, if the first bus I took was 187, the secod trip I made, which is also 187, there is no rebate.

Why is this so ?

Cos transferring between the same service is NOT considered a qualifying transfer and therefore DOES NOT qualify for a rebate.

how many ppl faithfully check the amount (w/ or w/o transfer) deducted from their ezlink card eberytime the alight the bus or exit the MRT?
i used to.....but always lost track then can't be bothered liao.....

and, if anyone experienced b4.....how prompt and easy is the claiming thing? efficient or u have to provide lengthy details of ur trip.....write report blah blah blah.......

We still tap our EZ LINK card and pay the same amount, NOT A QUALIFYING TRANSFER ? I am suprised !!Do I have to skip 187and wait 190 to have a QUALIFYING TRANSFER ?? What's the logic behind ?

Taking 187 after taking 187 is considered starting a new journey.

EG. You take 187 to work and then 187 back home. This is considered two journeys. That's why 187 -> 187 is considered 2 journeys.

Taking 190 and transfering to 187 is a single journey.

And if you had not realised earlier, this system has been in placed since the 1980s when the farecard system was 1st implemented and no one made noise.

I am here to clearify and not make noise, by the way, not many people is doing what I am doing, thus may not even came across such situation, as in transferring to same bus service.

Everytime i top up my ezlink or whenever i find an empty Add Value Machine or General Ticketing Machine, I would not hesitate to check my deduction of my bus fares, especially now when i'm not on concession. When i was on concession, its no sweat taking buses.. Smile

Hmm... I once alighted a single-deckered 74 to board a less packed VO3x behind and lost my rebate too... Wasn't too happy about it and I really should have underpaid on that trip.

Claiming a fare is very easy. Just go to any Transitlink office and the person will just scan the card and probably ask you where you alighted or how much the fare would usually be and then just deduct accordingly. Of course I don't deny it's easy to lie to the person but I don't encourage it since I guess one should just be grateful enough to be able to get a refund after forgetting to tap on the exit reader.
