Does anyone know why 2 does not call the terminal?

It just turn left to the main road. Is it because of poor berthing facilities or because of the narrow turn?

Service 2 DOES call at the terminal for alighting. I think SBST doesn't want pax getting mixed up with arriving or departing buses, hence making the 1st stop for service 2 outside.

If that's the case, then upgrade it. It looks more to a BS than a Ter. This applies to NBR as well. But the BS is just beside.

However, terminals are run by LTA. Also I remembered some MP wanted to redevelop the area and said that the terminal is too big. In fact, I'm thinking of a new service from Changi Village.

What's that?
Only Int are leased by bus companies, as maintainenance of BS, Terminal is by LTA. Otherwise you would have AC Bus stops like in HK as they are built by bus companies and pay more.

I think you mean why service 2 buses do not pick up passengers at Changi Village terminal, my reason is, the buses have to go one round in the terminal if boarding is allowed, so in order to save the one round, boarding is at the stop outside block 4, in this way, the buses can get out of the terminal in the shortest time.

I believe that's space allocated for alighting? For this I'm not so sure.

Kent Ridge terminal has boarding and alighting activities done at the same place. So all passengers there (except for services 95 and 189) have to look out whether the bus is dropping off or picking up passengers.

Kent Ridge has got far more services than Changi Village and they all go in different directions. 10 and 200 turn left from the terminal and left again. 189 turns left from terminal and turn right. 95 and 151 turn right from terminal and turn right into NUS and 33 turns right and go straight. If they don't allow boarding at this terminal, then there will be no communal bus stop outside the terminal which will allow boarding on all the services starting from this terminal.

Anyway, I subscribe to tranquilice's theory that it saves time for the bus to just turn out from the terminal instead of going a loop and then out. Kent Ridge is different because the buses still have to pass by the boarding/alighting berth before leaving the terminal.

I do not have Svc 53 latest PURPLE edition. I have 1 spare.
