Can still reid the Transperth...in Perth. Once, my family with my cousins used entirely the Sydney Buses, Trains & Taxis to travel around Sydney...just to cut costs. Mr. Green

Oh cool! Boarding on Transperth 1854 was an excellent experience! The ride was smooth, cool, and pretty quiet! Somehow this OC 500LE is quieter than the B10BLE .

It have a ZF 6HP502, not a 5speeder one.

The CNG pod is buily by Mannesmann of Germany, can travel 400+km w/o stop.

Chassis is built in Spain, assembled in Victoria, Australia by Volgren Buses. Date of commissioning is 4 August, 2003.

Airconditioning is by Coachair, Desto is by Mobitec ICU 400, data feed by MMC card.

Driver seat is by Isringhausen.

IMHO it is not new. about 7 months old. some vandalism (Iscrath scratch) at rear seat even..sighz.. and the camera also kanna takne out. they put band aid in the hole on bus ceiling (lolz)

I realised, we skipped two roads. CNG 1854 was supposed to loop around Marina Square like 961C.

It's interesting to know that the EDS by Mobitec can be programmed by removing the MMC Card for programming! This is so much user-friendly, then needing to take out the chip from the system per se.

I had the opportunity to compare the Volvo B10BLE with the OC500LE. It chanced upon me that 2989K came as I waited for 105 to get to Hyatt hotel. Although I like both of them the ride on the OC500LE is much smoother. I’m quite surprised that the engine is quiet for a Mercedes-Benz bus which are known to be very loud. I simply love the retarder sound of this bus. It steps down in quick succession and then lets out a monstrous moan. Cool! One thing in common is that sitting at the rearmost seat is a complete no-no. Very hot lah! Interior wise, I find the OC500LE to be a bit narrow and their doors were not as wide as the B10BLE. I really feel that SBS & TIBS should get a bus with wheelchair access (it doesn’t have to be a CNG one). After watching the demo carried out by the Handicapped Welfare Association, I realised how easy and quickly they could roll on and off the bus. Impressive. I lost sleep today just to see the OC500LE and it was worth it. A once in a lifetime experience.
