Should bus companies buy DD or Bendy buses?Why?

btw, dds, to me, still look better then bendys. They some sort have this grand look compared to bendys

I feel very lucky to live in Singapore. Our road condition is suitable for the deployment of both Bendybuses and double-deckers. They are wide, with few low bridges/tunnels and relatively flat. Most importantly, our 2 bus companies are financially strong enough to afford to purchase and maintain the buggers which, I must add, isn’t cheap. I agree there should be a good mixture of these buses in the fleet of both TIBS and SBS. This “I control DDs and you control Bendies” or “You buy Bendys? Then I won’t buy Bendys.” philosophy is quite silly actually. As always, both DDs and Bendys have their pros and cons.

Yes Suhirman totally agreed wiv u,My Instructor says that a Trident alone cost SBST around $400k,VSO around $385k,VO batch1-3 roughly $335-360k,LO $340k.The two bendies cost about $230 for the MB & $235k for the Volvo.(Cost including body assembles too)

Correct. Double-decks cost about $300 k and above. Single-decks about 200k and above.

Yes, I know that our neighbours do not have bendys or dds. Just like some of you guys here, I really appreciate the fact that our country has buses which are special in the 3rd world asia. Just look at some of the forumnites here...always complain & complain abt frequency, bus deployment & the buses itself. Appreciate what we have! Those MK3s, they're good buses! If SBST were to sell it to other bus operators in asia...for a cheap price, it will be like a miracle for them. The other bus operators in the region aren't even as rich as Tibs or SBS. Look at their buses: it's not even maintained well. Even the new buses the buy look old. So, hope no one is mad at me...what I'm just trying to say is appreciate our buses! Smile
