When the Superbus came out in 1993, they had their own livery
which was different from the conventional double-decks (Although
the one which was built in Falkirk came painted in the normal
design.) 997A (Super-Long Bus) had its own design and so did 998Y
and 999U (the 2 Bendys). Even 9888Y and the Tridents have their own
design. This was not the first time a different livery was used on
'special' buses. Back in 1980, the Leyland Leopard and Leyland
Olympian demo buses had a special beige livery with the old SBS
logo and pink over red stripes. The Metsec bodied MB OF1413, when
it first came out, had its top half painted white and the bottom
half red.
