dragg SG i am staying at new upper changi, somewhere in bedok. this is what i noticed. 2 stalls both selling chicken rice and porridge. stall 1 - pork porridge with egg $2.30 stall 2 - pork porridge with egg $2 the hawker at stall 1 said $2.30 because eggs are expensive. same stalls, another price descrepancy. stall 1 - fish porridge $2. stall 2 - fish porridge $2.30 the hawker at stall 2 said $2.30 because fish is expensive. anyone experienced such things? it is possible if the stalls are located in different areas but not in close proximity.
FBI SG actually it;’s the same. U see its quite fair enough. ppl will buy chicken frm stall 1 and ppl will buy fish frm stall 2
Wanda SG It’s a free mkt. The stalls can set their price, and it’s up to consumers to choose. Sometimes, they may charge more by giving more ingredients or fresher fish, for example, so ppl still patronise.
dragg SG i agree. but the problem is both these stalls are located close to one other. there isnt much difference in their porridge too. why the diff? funny hawkers!!
