Any feelings for any withdrawn bus service?

The former SBS service 168 was the one that i missed most. Remembered that my dad used to take me around on that bus in the last days of that service. Quite sad that the service was withdrawn as it was introduced sometime in 1970s and also the first aircon service.

Service 5 was also another service that i missed. It was introduced sometime in the 1970s and can be considered historical. However, ever since the handing over of Bt Panjang to TIBS, the svc was subsequently withdrawn due to "poor demand"!!! Can't they just twist a little of the route to make the demand higher?

I want service 85, service 989 and Express 505 to be re-instated. Mr. Green Razz

I purposely took service 989 to Changi Airport on its last day of service. Now no more chance. Crying or Very sad

Oyeah... they also quite pathetic le. 1, 4, 6, 9 got "killed" before they got the chance to become 601. 604. 606 & 609. 602, 603 & 607 got the cut later. Death awaiting 605 & 608... wondered what will happen to the "toyhouse"of Sin Ming Ter...

What was the real reason for 989 being withdrawn? I think SMRT had forced tibs to withdraw that service because they want people to take their MRT to Changi Airport.

Yes. They cited reasons like low ridership, but during peak hours that is DEFINITELY not the case.

Tibs want Bt Batok and CCK passengers to take the MRT to the airport which may be faster. As for Jln Toa Payoh to the airport, Tibs don't care as it's not its area.

If Tibs was still under Tibs Holding, 989 would never be withdrawn. The reason is, SMRT, the parent company, forced Tibs to withdraw the service as SMRT wants commuters to use the MRT Evil or Very Mad

CCK - Airport by MRT is faster as Sv. 989 takes a LONG and WINDING route inside CCK and BB. I wish TIBS were not bought over by SMRT.

What was the difference between services before the MRT and after the MRT was built? (comparing 1986 with 1992)

Those that duplicates the MRT line were either amended, integrated with other services or withdrawn.
