Bus Routes...Who Design them???

My uncle, an SMRT Corp worker told me that bus routes are designed by LTA.Then, they are given to Tibs or SBS. The buscompanies then amend it just a little...5-10%.

I don't know wheter I shud believe it Confused

If I'm not wrong, SBST and Tibs have departments that plan bus routes.

SBST/TIBS or maybe even LTA designed the routes.... the part where LTA comes in is that when they submit their proposal of a new route (whether thru feedback from public or from their own) to LTA, LTA must give the approval of it... otherwise... no new route. and its back to the drawing board again..

Its like asking LTA whether this route can use this expressway/highway/road anot? Its like asking permission for using LTA's territory Razz

But I'm told that the routes are mainly designed by LTA.Then submitted to the various interchanges route group.The int route group can choose whether they want to accept or not.If they accept, they amend the route just a little

dun tink so... bus route planning is just a small responsibility of one of the positions... since there are not too many bus routes to plan all the time. LTA is heavily involved in this process but they mostly approve bus service intro or amendment or withdrawl.
