Service 124

Do you think the current fleet of service 124 is sufficient to cope with the high load? The buses have full seating capacity and standees from the city area towards Telok Blangah even during off-peak hours. Is there a possibility to introduce service 124B in the above-mentioned direction?

I dont think there's a need to. Just pump the fleet with some DDs and that will do just fine Smile But then again AMDEP is lacking DDs.. thanks to the overflooding of the presence of the Mercz there...

I think there's height restriction along Henderson Rd.

You got a point.. come to think of it other than 132, all other services that use Henderson Rd DO NOT have DDs...

Yes, height restriction at Henderson Rd thanks to the trees. SBST should operate a mixed fleet of DDs and bendys, IMO.

The stretch of Henderson Rd that DD cannot ply is between Telok Blangah Rd and Depot Rd. So service 132 is not affected.

That's the problem. If SBST stop being so obstinate and get O405Gs, high-load routes with height restriction can get high-capacity buses!

I think it was really good that they implemented 124 to divert to Telok Blangah. Having lived there all my life up to the age of 18, i think it is fantastic.. We only ever had 273 which during peak was always crowded for one bus -> people took forever to get onto the bus to fill it up. And the following bus would be empty => cos of the delay from the first bus.

I would wish that both TIBS and SBST can get Bendies or DDs of their choices. That would add more “live” and varieties to the current fleet.

SBST might as well not bought the 2 bendies. Look, currently both of them are deployed on a DD-possible service. They should be deployed on DD-impossible services.

Convenience for this but inconvenience for others. The link between Bt Merah interchange and Kampong Bahru Rd (where services 61, 124, 143 and 166 ply) is lost. However, I felt that the amendment of route brought more convenience as Telok Blangah Heights/Drive passengers can now take a direct bus into the city.

Yes, I have noticed the problem on service 273, queue is extremely long during peak hours.

Yeah 273 always had the longest q's during peak hour. It is horrible! Most of the time you're packed in like sardines. It is great for my grandma... she only has to take one bus to Chinatown and Orchard. Remember the lowered TIBS buses? I think they should look into more senior friendly buses. Imagine trying to climb onto the bus during peak hour when you're 80!
