One 170 MKIII at Larkin had its rego with the new font.. A look
from far away, it does not look any difference but if you stare at
it, you can recognise the difference.. The format is still the
same, i.e. destinations in CAPS and 170 in the centre, and the new
font's CAPS are quite close to the old font's CAPS, as you can
verify on VSO big destos on 161, 168 etc.. I think they made it as
close as possible to the old 170 rego..
Also, I noticed that the time display on the BEP and BXP readers
does not update until someone taps it (RIDE SUSPENDED or EXIT OK)..
this was noted on the way down from Larkin Ter to Johor Checkpoint,
as the driver activated the "EXIT CHECKPOINT" mode just after he
left Larkin and there was ample time to observe..
Also, one of the drivers actually turns left and uses the side road
along Jln Tun Abdul Razak before turning into the main road on his
way from Larkin to Johor Checkpoint while the rest of them does the
three long loops around the flyover.. I wonder if they are allowed
to do that, but it does save quite a bit of time..
