Bus services afected by NEL

There appear to be more "disconnections" with the opening of the NEL. Here are a few suggestions to improve the state of affairs:

Services 23 & 111: Integration under the number 111 (Tampines-Temasek Polytechnic-Bedok North-PIE-Bendemeer Road-Little India-Orchard Road-Tanglin Road-Queenstown-Ghim Moh).

Service 62: Either end at Geylang Lorong 1 or loop at Tanjung Rhu (Dunman High).

Service 82: Either pull it out or extend it to Bishan Interchange via Upper Serangoon, Braddell and Bishan Roads.

Service 83 & 119: Integration under the number 119 (Punggol-Sengkang-Hougang South (loop)).

Services 112 and 113: Convert them to TownLink services under the numbers 329 and 320, making intra-town travel less costly.

On another issue,

Services 859 & 962: Integration under the number 962 (Woodlands-Sembawang-Yishun).

Erect an interchange in Sembawang soon. Sengkang and Punggol have got theirs already.

Adopt the Perth model of managing public transport. Have a master operator (Transitlink) take over the bus fleets and MRT/LRT lines. They will then be leased back to SBS and SMRT-Tibs. I think it could be more efficient since there is a single operator in control, instead of two or three groups.

Australian may have a splendid transport system. We could emulate their system, however do we have a management to do what they exactly would like to do???? Do you think our management has a free hand in doing what they would like to do?

Svc 23 shld be extended to clementi with the integration of 111.
Svc 62 just go terminate at Shenton Way via Crawford St & Beach Rd.
Integrate 83 and 159. Link better between Punggol, Sengkang, Hougang, AMK & Toa Payoh
Svc 82 muz well go Toa Payoh link residents better.
Svc 112 & 113 can extend to AMK... no need ctrl stops and loop at Kovan.
Merge 962 & 859 and oso extend the svc to AMK ....serves better and alternative route of 169 to woodlands via AMK Ave 8/3/6, Lentor Ave, Yishun Ave 2.

It is not feasible to merge 859 and 962 now as both services have high demands and I do not think TIBS have enough buses to cater to that yet.

Actually I quite like the way the Aussies and Londoners run their public transport system.

Sembawang has no feeder bus service. Furthermore, the two fleets (859 & 962) can be combined. Wonder why Punggol Int was built so soon and Sembawang still hasn't got one.
