i have some comments on svc 966.

1) don't understand why boarding towards woodlands can only be done at the bus stop opposite parkway parade. many people would not wish to climb the overhead bridge and chase after the bus, especially when they're carrying many things or when it's raining. most people would rather board at the bus stop outside the post office where it's more convenient.

2) buses usually stop after the exit from the parkway parade carpark or after the roundabout at marine parade road and wait for a few minutes before changing the EDS/preparing for the return trip. it's very dangerous if you are familiar with the road conditions there. cant they just make it a loop service like 858 without changing the direction/fare stages? hell, 858 has a longer route but the driver doesn't wait/change the route direction at terminal 2.

any comments?

Yes, 858 has 85.0 stages in one whole loop.

That was in the past. Nowadays the farestages are reset to 1 at PTB 2.

I'm more interested about the rest/route change he brought up.

Based on my numerous experiences, Service 858 do stop for a while, usually no more than 5 minutes at the T2 Terminal. And obviously, these buses will change the desto back to "858 WOODLANDS INT/MRT" from "858 CHANGI AIRPORT".

The drivers normally stop for a toilet break and a breather before continuing on the return trip back to Woodlands, around 5 mins as Superbus has stated.

Same case for all other SIN services. 36 rest time would be the longest as they terminate there.

In fact, I have board a service 966 bus at the bus stop outside the post office (Parkway Parade side) before, on its first day of service. But I cannot flash my ezlink card before the driver reset the fare stage.

I agreed it's very dangerous for the bus to park temporary at the roadside, and it's obstructing traffic too.

Last time I took a sv 989 bus from PTB 2 to CCK, the driver just drove 3 hour plus straight. He did not rest at PTB 2.

hmm. i took 858 1 month ago and they did not reset the fare stages nor did the driver take a break. svc 989 drivers did not rest nor take toilet breaks too. and svc 989 had 101 fare stages. i boarded at fare stage 100 for fun and the ticket showed fare stage “00”

Poor drivers. I think the driver was running short on time, thus not going for break.
