It seems that other than 23, 147 those services with overloaded loadings do have ADDs. Why? In the end average demand services like 22 gets ADDs? They don’t treat profitable rts well.

carbikebus SG

Try svs 60 during the morning and evening peak hours.

You should see how pack service 22 can get. I wonder if your stand is based on anything.

th1988 SG

For 22, I mean at SGN

Yupzz pretty sure... cos i used to take 147 or 106(no more plying bendemeer rd Crying or Very sad ) to S'pore Poly in the morning. I take the bus frm my hse in bendemeer area to of cos, Dover MRT. It will be packed to the entrance door lor but after bencoolen will be empty. This probably explains y SBST introduced svc 147A soon after realising svc 147 alone is being bullied by NEL Cool . Fyi, 147A plys frm Hougang to Bencoolen Wink . But 147A can't seem to be able to curb the overloding problem well enuff....and tt's y i'm forced to take the NEL. Wink Crying or Very sad Sad Mr. Green
Above info based on my observations onli....it may be wrong and inaccurate.....pls do not depend solely on my info. clarify first....

And sumtimes its really frustrating to c svc 64 using the new superbus (trident?). 64 so little pple take still use so gd and big bus....sumtime really dunnoe wad SBST doing man.
i take 64 can use those small small bus....like the bus used by the now defunct svc 20 Mr. Green
fyi...svc 20 use to ply between Sims PLace and looped at St. Georges...really cute buses man...

I feel that all the 20 tridents should be runabout buses or perhaps the current 153 and 165’s tridents become runabout.

Superbus SG

There must be reasons why SBST put high-capacity buses on certain routes. And definitely you just cannot judge that just by looking at certain segments or parts of the route itself.

Take me as an example when sometime ago I mentioned about SBST's deployment of 2 Service 168's VSOs back to back. I saw them running empty in a matter of 5 minutes within each other at Bedok Reservoir Road. But when someone told me the deployment is crucial, as the bulk of passengers alighted at Tampines, leaving the bus empty after that, I immediately realised there was a strong reason for SBST to do that.

A Service 22 Superbus might run empty at Serangoon, but it might be packed to the brim at Paya Lebar or Bedok Reservoir. So I advise you look at it as a whole, not just it's surface.

Cheers and warm regards

179.

if u r unlucky, more than half a dozen buses can pass the bus-stop without even stopping... after which u can have another half dozen of buses which are nearly empty... think the planning can be realli bad sometimes...

service_238 SG

It's not bad planning. Its due to commuter patterns.

Like i've said time and again.. commuter usage on services goes up and down like the stock market. It's very hard to predict commuter patterns but what SBST can predict is the general demand of the service as a whole.

SBS9818A SG

Because of commuter patterns. Not everyone comes out at a certain time all the time, you can't expect SBST to cater to EACH AND EVERY one commuter, right?

Nothingie SG

if u noe where this service serves, & if this keeps happening, then some1 is not noticing the pattern...

delonchew SG

Service 168 can be very packed at WRI in the evenings, between 4pm to 7pm. This is also the case for Service 161. That is why I either try to take 161 before 4 or I take it after 7.

th1988 SG

Why?

161 and 168 very popular with WDL residents?

service_238 SG

Easy access to Sengkang and Tampines respectively. For 965 and 969, they must bypass Yishun first.

SBS9818A SG

Are you making unsubstantiated claims again? Sv. 22 can be quite packed.

th1988 SG

For 22, where? TAM – Paya Lebar?

service_238 SG

Although i've never seen Svc 22 being overloaded before, the relatively high demand of the service is at TAM - Bedok Reservoir/Ubi. Other than that, the demand is rather average as 22 duplicates 24 from AMK - Paya Lebar Rd.
