Which retired and vintage bus do you miss most ?

I have one in my mind. Mercedes Double-Decker O305 bus, I really miss this bus,she is the best non-aircon DD bus ever built.

Besides the O305s you have mentioned earlier, I miss the CAC Leyland Victories with Soon Chow bodies.

Comfy seats, powerful engine and extremely high seat-ground clearance - good for "sightseeing".

Same here, i also like the 0305 a lot, although the only times i took it and i knew it was an 0305 was when i was in Secondary school....took it sometimes after school on svc410 to Thomson Plaza or the long way back to Bishan Interchange Mr. Green .

The last time i took it was during the chinese new year eve's in 2002........

I also remember the LO2-Axles....the nice cummin sound is far and difficult to get.

SBS Albion viking,The 'unique' sound,Scania double decker,Very sleek & comfy.Of course MB 0305 dd,Leyland victory,the sound.
MB OF1417 duple metsec & the 'hawk' body.Not forgetting the Volvo B57 & Leyland atlanteans.

The 2-axle Leyland Olympian had a Leyland TL11 engine. The 200 buses for SBS were the last Leyland engined bus chassis to be produced in the world.

The Cummins LT10 engine is used on the 3-axle Leyland Olympian. There were doubts that SBS 3554 had a Cummins engine but it was never proven. On the other hand, the Sentosa Olympians had Gardner 6LXB engines.

I miss the O305. Hmm Sv. 410 using O305s in 2002? Who you kidding? They were replaced in late 2001 with 4 LOs.

Yup.. I simply love the sound it goes and stop. One O305 brought my brother from AMK to NP in 20 mins... Very Happy

Not to forget, the bus is also very spacious...

My last O305 ride was in year 1999 or 2000 on sv 165.

Favourite retired bus: Atlanteans and O305s

Atlanteans because of their sound (thats the fan-belt I think). Last trip took on 222 late 1999(I think).

O305s because of their smooth sound and smooth and fast journeys. Their sound and speed is much better than O405s. Last trip on 153 in late 2001(I think).

Olympians dont give a better impression than Atlanteans and O305s.

im not kidding at all.

Svc410 is one of the last few svcs to get the 0305s as cameos.

I recognise it by their distinctive lower deck and its rear.....an ultra large MB badge down there

I think what SBS9818A is talking about is the timeframe which you last took the O305 on Service 410. He suggested that the O305s was phased out in late-2001 and impossible that you could have took it in 2002. Wink

Yes 0305 left in 2001, last seeing it on 154 and cameo on 90

As for Alteantean, it was 2000 with seeing it last on 107 and cameo on 90.

That's interesting. I have no recollection of sv 90 and 107 using Atlanteans.
