Don't forget that every service improvement comes with a price. And it would justify their fare adjustment this year.

Irregard which NEL stations you boarded, you bound to have seats if not ample standing place. It justify the 5cents or 10cents premium one has to pay to ride on the NEL line. In fact those riding on NEL should pay more than those on SMRT trains. All riders after Boon Lay station probably has to stand during their whole trip.

I doubt that statement. I still enjoy the same waiting times for buses and trains since 2-5 years ago.

The NEL does not have enough passenger demand, that's why there are more vancant seats in NEL trains than EWL/NSL triains.

you probably havent been taking enough transport then.. Twisted Evil All buses shedule push back by 1 to 5 minutes. trains push back by 1 or 2 minutes during off peak..from 6 minutes to 7 minutes or 8 minutes depending on which stops and line. Suppose to cut costs abd maximise profit..besides buses can have more rest..getting old liao.. Laughing

I am taking buses very frequently and i beg to differ. SMRT had improved on their morning frequency for the NS line if you had been observant enough, especially for the 0630-0730 period. The timimg at Yishun is now every 2-3 minutes when i can wait for 8-10 minutes 2 years ago for a train!!

Feeder wise, svc 806 frequency had also notably improved and meets with the LTA requirement of 7minutes. In the past, they view svc806 as an auxilliary svc to svc804 and suka suka increase the frequency with serious repercussions, including a letter to the Straits Times forum that probably got the MP involved. Moreover, svc 806 had became 100% Bendy wef from early 2002.

It depends lah. Sv. 410 frequency is very horrible lately. SBST seem to be making the frequency of Sv. 53 and Sv. 56 longer, so more pax get on board and earn more per bus.

I'm still unhappy with the EWL East bound train waiting time. Between 0656 to 0705 hr, one East bound train is equavilent to the arrival of 3 trains from the middle platform (from Woodlands). All the trains are packed like sardines. I hope SMRT would improve on that.

The frequency of sv 962 improved, but sv 859 has longer waiting time and one Bendy replaced by a 12m bus.

yah even my 198 timetable has fallen back to like 197's one..12 mins per bus during peak .

that is impossble to happen...there is a general lack of DDs...some1 shd appeal to put the LO2Xs back on the road.

Most of the LO 2 axles are scrapped of their engines. Even if they are willing, at most 5 units will be back on the road.

There are already lots of 2-axle VOs during that timeframe. Sv. 151 should get double-decks too, SBST REALLY need to buy more double-decks to cope with the loads.

that is not as major problem, the thing is whether they are willing to do it or not. They strip the engines to use as spare only what. so if they put it back..how hard can it be??

No. The engines are sold to the scrapyard, and the scrapyard owner takes out the engine and puts it for sale to other countries who need spare parts, since Leyland is no more.

Even if SBST buys more air con double deckers, it seems reluctant to deploy them on service 74.
