2779A is now a perm bus of Sv. 153, it operated solely on Sv. 80 before with a few cameos occasionally.

th1988 SG

I once see a swing door mark 3 on 88, 90 2-3 years back. May I know where is it now.

More info:

DM Body Intercooled
The bus with interior yellow stripes

The exit is swing door like the low floor ASD or ADD

Yusry SG

I remember this bus too, but have not seen it in the past couple of years.

It was a Mark IV (not 3) with a DM3500 body.

off_service SG

Must be SBS 2754 X. It is currently on service 161.

carbikebus SG

Is it with a black adidas ads on it? Shocked

delonchew SG

Nope. It has a light blue Samsung hp ad. Used to be brown Samsung hp ad.

To date, that's the only Mk4 DM3500 I know (and have taken) with rear swing doors. The other one is the DM3500 on Svc 80 (with the EDS on the front), I think. Anyone can confirm this?

Superbus SG

There is only one bus with outswing plug door and one bus with EDS.

SBS2754X - Outswing plug door demonstrator bus
SBS2779A - EDS demonstrator bus

Cheers and warm regards

u forgot SBS2771 - move to rear button demonstrator bus

and SBS2779 - sensor to detect dist from bus in front demo bus / EDS demo bus

off_service SG

The "move to rear" annoucement is also put on trial on SBS 997 A right? I remembered seeing a picture of someone pressing the button outside SBS 997 A.

SBS 2779 A is also equipped with a camera? Correct me if I am wrong.

Superbus SG

Oh yes, SBS997A was fitted with that device also. The camera which was installed on SBS2779A was used to catch traffic offenders who violated into the Bus Lanes during the operational hours. The camera has since been removed. Unsuccessful? Confused

Cheers and warm regards

Some may think that how 90 got a Mark IV. Well, it was a long story.

With the deployment of LO 2x into 90, SBS did once deploy a VO 2x on trial to see it was viable. So it had a rectangular desto plate. So that was how the special Mark IV was on 90.

SBS9818A SG

The Mk IV with a plug door is SBS 2754X, AMDEP-based, now on Sv. 161
SBS 2779A the EDS bus has no plug door, and is currently on Sv. 153

i sat a MKIII (877M) on Svc 96 at evening time yesterday and i can hear that the gearbox is ZF 4-gear, like those used in MKIV Striders.. seems like they were testing ZF gearbox on the at least one of those last batch of MKIIIs (800-plus series) befoe buying Striders with ZF.. but today i have yet to spot it on Svc 96 and it has not appear on my regos list before.. however shld be a bbdep bus.. do look out for it..

SBS9816E SG

Black Adidas Ad?! Yes! That was in during 2002.

SBS9818A SG

During mid 2002, Adidas Fragrance ad, operated on Sv. 88

th1988 SG

Was it a red colour ad, it was once on 90 on Sat and Sun on 2000.

Edited post

Sorry, I remembered it was a magazine ad.

SBS9818A SG

Adidas ad was black. Before that I'm not too sure.

th1988 SG

The swing door mark IV I believed 90 was the first rt to use it as many were not too sure and they only know abt deployment on 88 which was later as I lived in TPY.

What abt the EDS, which was the pioneer rt?

SBS9818A SG

2754X was an original Sv. 88 bus. It did cameos on other services before.

service_238 SG

I've seen and taken this bus before. I think it was on 88. It's a pity i didnt get to really notice it. lol..

As for EDS, i first saw it in 80 along Upp Paya Lebar Rd. I'm not sure which service it did before that.
