if Svc 852 is AMDEP since early Nov, this is too recent for me to notice it, but usually DAFs serve on Svc 852 during school terms.. and this change is after the last school term so i will have no info on this.. i’m jus quoting the work calendar posted on the toilet alley.. anyway i did see one DAF on Svc 852 a few days ago..

Hello, are ya certain about it?! Sv 852 is no longer with KJDEP and therefore no DAFs can be seen on it! Unless you would tell me that AMKDEP has spaces for DAFs to park.

TIBS drivers are FIXED to a BUS, NOT the other way round. this is normally how TIBS operate their bus services. They are not fixed to a route, like some Lances cross over to 969 sometimes with an 855 driver. Rather, they cross routes like AMK's cameo king , TIB819M

BTW, U shd visit Yisun more often. In the case for svc 804 and 806, the split shift is from 12pm to 3pm, NOT during the peak hours or the Bendy on 804 will get stuck in the U-turn, and the 806 12m bus will probably explode.

Feeder service drivers go on trunk, NOT trunk on feeder for god's sake. Svc 806 bendies with their drivers regularly go over to svc 854 during the non-peak. Even if they do, they cross over for the whole day.

Next, the code for trunk drivers AND feeder is 8??AMXX or 8??PMXX.....i must really compliment u for ur vivid imagination and perhaps ur under-corrected eyesight

It is true tt the buses need rest, but once in two months wont really warrant it as perm, won't it? Very Happy

as i said i'm jus quoting the work calendar.. anyway if it is not so permanent i need to check if it is on the S shift or it has more than 2 days off on this service since i copied every rego i saw.. but when i say permanent here means the bus has a duty and schedule on this service that it needs to serve so:

1. it may have duties on other services that i am not aware of
2. it may be chartered out to other services on its rest day due to bus shortage

i didn't copy the shift and day of each bus since it is too much info to copy..

Then, dun go around asserting things that u dun noe and unsure of, it will just confuse other forumers.

And, the shift codes for TIBS are uniform and apply to the WHOLE schedule.

Its useless to check for "S", the sub bus will just take another normal route timetable.

Next, spotting perm buses are a long-term observation and experience. U have to take into account the percentage of days they are on service, not just check if 2 days off service then its not perm or whatsoever.

Moreover, u admitted tt ur information tt u gave at the beginning of this topic are falsified....cos u claimed tt u got the new perm buses for the new schedule NEXT week.........

okie, i am sure a DAF appeared on Svc 852 a few days ago (i think x'mas) since i live along the route (AMK Ave 6)..

there are S and TQ shifts are TIBS.. believe me, S shifts are fixed on peak hours and TQ shifts are super-long 12-hour shifts that start late at 8am and end early at 8pm.. try:
1. boarding during peak hours (S) or off-peak day time (TQ) and check the duty on their timesheets
2. checking the work calendar at the toilet alley for 8xxS20x or 8xxTQxx
3. ask the drivers if there's such a thing as S and TQ shifts

drivers are fixed to a route from what i know.. trunk on feeder allows them to cross over easily since they do not have to remember the route and the fare stages when passengers pay by cash.. then they change the buses they drive every day, and keep rotating their duties.. maybe AMDEP manages differently from KJDEP cos a KJDEP driver (Svc 189) confirmed this with me a few days ago and i saw it on my own (two consecutive days since i was down to understand VLS on 544E, the first day is an Indian guy and second a Chinese fellow)..

some ppl have noted Lances on 852 going over to 804 during peak hours and that very same night i took the very same bus home on Svc 852 from Bt Timah back to AMK..

there are S and TQ shifts.. for example, on christmas eve, Svc 851 had 18 duties on AM shift, 18 on PM shift, 3 on S shifts (851S201-851S203) and 4 on TQ shifts (851TQ01-851TQ04)..

christmas day, it had no S shifts but 8 duties on TQ shifts plus 18 duties each on AM and PM shifts.. these are their shift start and end times for 18 duties (earliest start-latest start to earliest end-latest end):

AM Shift 18 buses 0513-0708 to 1418-1548
PM Shift 18 buses 1339-1548 to 2214-0117
S Shift 3 buses 0845-0948 to 1202-1215

on 2pm on christmas eve, Svc 851 had an observed interval of 5-6 mins per 12m bus and 7-8 mins per bendy, much faster than normal days.. these duties start and end times are also found next to the work calendars.. please check the place again and i will also to make sure the same work calendars and notices are still intact since they are unlikely to change it until 29/12/03 or after NYD..

that i believe is probably due to a difference in definition of "permanent".. and if i were to check their shift start and end times it would be too subjective and i may miss some buses.. also, the very same buses who did AM or PM shift on some days do serve S and TQ shifts on some other day(s) so i took them all down..

did i admit is falsified? first, it is not false, it is based on what i saw, and it is black-and-white on the board.. to put all the regos would be better than everyone saying "Why this bus is quite often seen on 80x but you never put it down?" this is a problem of subjective judgement..

second, if you live in Yishun and have a better overview of things then do state the error in a constructive manner politely, thanks..

third, please do respect ppl's post and if you think it is false please come up with a "counter-list" and we can exchange the deployment info constructive, not go there and say "it's false" and not share your experience in observing deployments.. i have acknowledged that there could be errors since no human is perfect and that is enough.. please respect every forumer's view..

fourth, i have just starting building up my deployments list in less than a week ago (now there are 1000 regos, one third only) so i am not as experienced as you, but i can assure you Yishun services deployment in the first post is taken as per se from the work calendar.. if you have the experience of noting the deployments of Yishun services I welcome you to share your regos list on Yishun services so we can know what buses are there on what services that are not listed over the years.. thank you..

anyway i don't have the schedule for next week.. clarify with you now.. it may be due to the speed at which we type now that mistakes arise.. humans make errors, and the best thing i can hope for is clarification if there are better information.. if there is anything that may be copied wrongly or if i have created a falsehood due to my mistakes then i will apologise here and hope someone comes up with clarifications and corrections on the deployments..=)

not too sure if they'll close down or not, but the govt seems quite lenient on TIBS, allowing them to park in bus interchanges, so they may be allowed to extend their lease.. so far no one has any news on the fate of KJDEP, and i may need to ask the drivers of KJDEP about it.. already BBI has overnight parking now in addition to YI and it's not enough.. anyway this info is taken from the Annual Report of SMRT 2003, under the Finanicial statements -> Assets..

Sorry, but to be sure of wad u are talking about, please try to state the registration number of the bus next time in order to confirm and to show 100% that the bus is on the particular service.

I live at the end of the route in Yishun, and i had not noticed any DAFs recently since the middle of November. Any other forumers who had seen the DAF, pls help...thx!

I have a gut feeling that the DAF that u may had seen may be mistaken as an 0405, especially if u view if without the very distinctive front. However, i must admit that there are a few special instances when a bus hops depots on TIBS, unlike on SBST where it is very common.

Secondly, i would like to clarify the location of the toilet alley in Yishun. That times when i went down and check, the work calenders are not posted on the notice board, but rather in the controller's office.'

TIBS try to maintain a same bus, same route for all drivers, but there are times when there are operational constraints. Then bus that u are referring to switching duties on 804 and 852 is TIB1011U that day, and i got a photo of it. You may like to know that the bus is on the route for the whole day for that day. If you have contacts that saw the Lance on 804, please also include the rego in ur posts; its much clearer, and it is the ONLY way that u will know that it had switched services during the day.

Next, the TQ and S shifts are considered very special class of shifts, and arise due to the TIBS CHC charter as they have insufficient buses. The S shift drivers dun end their shift at 8pm, or 12pm on weekdays; they have another charter duty to do,if u dun believe me, you may like to check out the CHC schedules if u like; they match logically.

I have to agree with you that there are extrodinarily many buses during Christmas Eve and the day itself. However, if you had observed the entire day, u would had seen that most of the extra ones knock off at almost the same time; it is easily mistaken for a TQ or S shift; in fact, they are off to Jurong on a CHC charter. Most of the CHC charter buses originate from AMK, esp on svc 851, and TIB1201M has a perm AM shift only for that matter on saturdays. It is also rather hard to wait for a bus on 851 and 852 for the same reason on Friday evenings.

Sometimes its better to leave out some regos and place a question mark next to it than to completely assume it as a perm bus service. I was quite pissed off when u stated a lot of errors on the yishun trunk service, esp 800, 804 and 806.

For that reason, i also have some reason to believe that u had started to collect regos for quite some time, as the last time that 1232 and 1200 had appeared on 806 is at least 1 month ago, and 812, 816 and 575 at least stayed on 804 for at least the past 2 months. It is very very rare to get a 12m on 806 nowadays due to the high load........only 756 and 945 appeared last week on 806.
Moreover, there are no bendies perm on 804. Hence, i thought u are falsifying info.

Given that TIBS currently have insufficient buses, it is very easy to see if the bus is perm on the service........One does not need to care about AM and PM shift...that is the driver's business. If the shift is S, chances are that it is a "cameo". A perm bus on TIBS is normally seen throughout the day, its just driven by different drivers.

TQ shifts are not fixed from 8 to 8. For example, svc 806 drivers can drive the bus the entire day from 0600 to 2200. Their shift timetable is still AM/PM, only that the same driver change timetables. 50% of 806 buses knock off after 8pm, but all go into service at 0600 to meet the student demand.

As for myself, im sorry to say that i can't exchange regos and info with you for past deployments, and i dun care to take down regos as they are too much of a hassle. For that matter, my rego list comes from experience, so its easier to spot cameos.

For example, the fleet in 1999-2000:
800: 816, 818 , both of which are ceded to 804 after it started to operate bendies.; 970 which was the envy of many feeder services.
804: 815, 495, now x-fer depot to WLDEP, and perm on svc 969; not sure abt 815 though, but i dun see it in Yishun these days.
780 when NAC, was on 804, pending fitting of AC was transferred to 851, and also shares its time with 852. After conversion, it was on 851 and other AMKDEP svcs. Spotted it many times on 969.

806: 579, 746 ( 746 is x-fer to WLDEP, it still has the blue traffic police ad, and is perm on 969. ) 579 has the trial bus-lane camera, prob also x-fer depot.

812: One of the first to get bendies, esp the first to receive the "citaros" 975 and 976. Now still in AMKDEP, 975 is prob on WL already, and 976 is perm on 851, or whenever its lady driver is deployed to.

okie.. i'm starting to keep a rego list now actually.. it's more like a random exercise rather than camping at Yishun whole day since it'll be too tiring and also cos i dun stay there so i wouldn't know about the points you've raised.. i didn't know CHC buses are from AMDEP and i think this is something new for us..

as for the DAF, i stay along the road and will keep a lookout.. if i see it i'll quickly post it as a topic so everyone can see.. if not, well, probably it's my eye doing the trick =/

anyway thanks for ur sharing of some regos at the previous post.. well, i jus took it off the work calendar, it may have changed seen but you Yishun ppl would have the benefit of noting the changes faster.. now we wait for the commencement of school term schedules.. i think all eyes are glued on Svc 852...!

TIB1186Z, don’t forget Sv. 969 is also controlled by AMDEP, so your 47x O405 may still be with AMK. I must agree that almost all the TIBS buses for CHC charter come from AMK, for example, they used TIB 1210G, which is AM-based if I’m not mistaken.

TIB 579 E is still with AMDEP. However, I agree that the bus has kind of "vanished". The last time I saw this bus was at Yishun Int.

TIB 975 U should be still with AMDEP. Can anyone confirm?

I think TIB 1210 G is based in KJ. I saw the bus on service 190 before. I wonder if the bus had transferred depot, or I have made mistake all this while.

Yes, TIB 1210G is a Sv. 190 bus but I'm not sure if Sv. 190 is controlled by both AMDEP and KJDEP, or just KJ.

The work calender does not even apply at all…...not much changes in Yishun…..852 still has its usual mix of 0405s and Lances, and the others are all prob. cameos, like 1005 on 854 and 1022 on 806.

Interestingly 1005 operated Sv. 855 in the AM peak, then Sv. 854 in the PM peak.
