I think most of the passengers taking 136 are students. It's likely DD buses will be redeployed when school reopens next year. This is like the case of 74 now when there are so many SD 74s compared to during school semester.

And also, the Superbuses was deployed so as to meet the demand from the students from schools along the route. And since right now it's the holidays, the demand is not there at the moment for (a) Superbus(es) to be deployed.

the load factor on 174 is very heavy. esp the superbus i took first time was packed liek sardines.

the 2nd time i took it with darryl and the rest the bus was not so packed.

meanwhile 174 has 5 Lo3x on it...SBS9004, SBS9038, 9042, 9080 and that silly fronted ad one.....9095. 9095 all of us shd avoid since u cant see much outside with that paste on ad (not electrostatically) on the front coach like upper deck window.

Ya, avoid 9095 because you can't see the view of Old Jurong Rd from the front thanks to the Army's contravision ad.

For 107, it has only the number itself due to the alternative rt 107x during sundays and PHs.

Now a days, most SBS new ADD services have just the no itself might be due to its usefulness.
Imagine this, you see lets say 78, you might not be sure of the rt even it says "Jurong East 78 Clementi (Loop)" as where it plys, so you might ask the service captain after all or check the side plate which is more comprehensive.

Not necessary. Sv. 62 and Sv. 174 have only the numbers, no texts. It would have been better to put text so commuters won't be so confused.

If they are using the cloth destination sign or the rollers like those in HK it would be better. Of course, EDS would be the best but it is expensive.

Service 64 does require double deckers. Not so for service 165 during off peak hours. I really hope some double decks from service 165 would go over to service 74 when school term starts.

I agree with you, service 165 doesn't need Tridents. I am still thinking why did SBST took out the Trident from service 74 after the "publicity period".

Sv. 165 Trident is quite a nice sight, but it goes empty most of the time. I rather see it on Sv. 74, but will be a very rare cameo.

Actually there was a night late last year when I saw 2 Tridents bunched together on service 74 as well... Quite a waste of resources considering both buses are Tridents

Sv. 74 is notorious for bunching as SBST overestimated the loads especially during holidays and at night.

actually i don’t think it’s SBS Transit that overestimates the load. It’s more of a case of 74 having such high demand that SBS Transit are forced to have 74 operating at very short frequencies. With short frequencies, the chance of buses bunching is very high since an earlier bus which may be unlucky with traffic lights may be slowed down slightly which may be enough to bunch with the buses behind. And once 74 buses bunch together, the driver and passengers on subsequent buses have a terrible time.

But the notorious bunching only happens during off-peak hours and school holidays. During school dismissal times the buses will be full of pax and it would be quite tough for them to clump. Yes, once Sv. 74 buses clump together, the ones behind would go very slowly.

There was once during a school day, in the afternoon along HG Ave 2, I saw THREE Sv. 74 buses coming together (2 2-axle VOs, one B10M Mk II) and the combined capacity would fit into one 2-axle VO just nicely.

3 is not very rare. I saw 6 bunched together at AMK MRT years ago and my friend saw 8 bunched at KAP last year (think both peak hours and towards HG. the latter due to a traffic jam.)

EIGHT Sv. 74 buses in a row? EIGHT Sv. 170 buses may seem more likely! SBST should do something to adjust the frequency, many times the buses are half empty! KAP? Where's that?
