A general guideline:

Trunk Peak: T=2.52X+5.6 where T is time in minutes and X is no. of fare stages. Note that this formula gives an overestimate for services that are largely express like svc969. It should be accurate to 5mins, barring the fact of a major traffic congestion.

Hope it helps Smile

if i am not wrong ,u can board and alight at admiralty road west terminal but not at marina centre terminal. Very Happy

To be more specific:

Alighting is done when the bus parks at the bus bay.

Boarding is done at the bus stop in front of the terminal.

There are boarding berths for Sv. 13 and Sv. 853 at Upp East Coast Ter. I feel Marine Parade services should be amended to terminate there, it is so damn underutilized! Only one and one-seventh services.

off_service SG

True. Orginally I thought all ex- Marine Parade Terminal services will be moved to it, instead all became loop services with service 196 extended to Bedok, making 3 Bedok - Clementi services.

SBS9818A SG

Yes, like TPY - Tampines, 3 services.

heh i suppose this works since buses travel times can be quite constand and hence suggest a simple linear relation with a general constant. i'lll keep this in mind...2.52(fare stages) + 5.6 minutes = total minutes

Service 18 is about 35 minutes between Tampines and Bedok. The full trip takes about 1 hour 15 minutes.

Service 3 is about 50 minutes one-directional.

Service 39 is about 45 minutes one-directional.

Admiralty Rd West - Yes
Ang Mo Kio Depot - No
Buona Vista - No
Marina Centre - No
Shenton Way - No
Tuas - Yes
Upp East Coast - Yes

In my opinion, it is not accurate. Take service 2 for example, the estimated time to complete one-directional trip is 1 hour 10 minutes. By using the formula, that is 2.52(31 fare stages) + 5.6 = 83.72 minutes or 1 hour 23 minutes. Difference of 13 minutes.

Another example, service 188 between AYE stop (near Clementi Stadium) and IMM stop. 2.52(4 fare stages) + 5.6 = 15.68 minutes, however the actual time it takes is around 8 minutes.

I guess the formula goes according to the scheduled timetable? Sometimes drivers tend to drive faster than scheduled

foxtrot1985 SG

I guess this formula works for a minimum number of stages and is less accurate for short distance trips. Probably most accurate for middle distance trips.
