Yes, I know it's just a map. I have been to the Millenia station area, the station is being built opposite Millenia Tower/Centennial Tower, along Temasek Ave. Due to space constraint in the nearby area, the alignment of the tunnels towards Millenia station from Convention Centre station is more curved than the tunnels towards Orchard station, because the tunnels to and fro Orchard station is between Scotts Rd and Orchard Boulevard, not between Scotts Rd and Orchard Rd, which in this case, could be almost a L-shape alignment. The tunnels between Convention Centre station and Millenia station (towards Millenia) run under Raffles Boulevard, then left into Temasek Ave, the space constraints resulted in this alignment. Now, it is known that the CCL trains will use 3 carriage instead of 6, so in my opinion shouldn't be a big problem.

It has been known all along that CCL will be a medium-rail network, definitely not so many cars are needed, though I'm wondering how packed they will be during peak hours.

it seems like they're looking into building Millenia Station into an interchange station. you know, i was thinking if Millenia Station could be one end of the future Bukit Timah Line, where it goes via Bugis, Little India, Whitley, Adam and so on. or could it be the future connection to New Downtown? however, i still don't think they could build New Downtown that fast to require a connection in the near to middle term.

Millenia station is first proposed as an interchange station for the CCL, which will link the New Downtown to HarbourFront under phase 6 and continues with other stages. Now, LTA has changed its proposal, that is the CCL will terminate at HarbourFront station. Once the New Downtown is developed, phase 6 may be build.

I agree. That sounds logical enough. Or maybe, Millenia Station would be the terminal station for the future ERL? Though it could be highly unlikely.

It's not possible at all, because ERL will be between Tampines and MacPherson, passing by Bedok, Kaki Bukit and Marine Parade. The line will not enter the city area.

As for Nicoll Highway station, it also has 4 tunnels stacked 2 upon 2, so that may be another interchange for CCL or the terminal station for BKL.

As to what I see, here are my suggestions for the Bus route amendments/withdrawals for CCL.

Service 24: Withdrawal (Services 22, 28, 2 can cover the withdrawn sector) However, no bus service can cover the Tenah Merah - Airport sector. (If only Svc 34 was around)

Service 70: Withdrawal (Services 163, 103, 22, 197, 196 can cover withdrawn sector) OR Amended to serve Yio Chu Kang - Serangoon.

Service 93: Withdrawal (Services 61, 855, 157, 13, 28 can cover the withdrawn sector) OR Amended to serve HarbourFront - Farrer Rd (Loop)

It seems a little tricky to amend the routes along Upp Paya Lebar Rd & Paya Lebar Rd because there's very few connecting roads to the road itself.. However, Svc 22 76 80 may be amended to serve elsewhere.

For the western side of CCL, I'd agree that Svc 165 855 will be amended or cut short. But i wonder how SBST & TIBS are going to handle this.

Service 28 may be withdrawn, the route between Tampines and Bedok may be covered by another existing service.

Service 24 between Tanah Merah and Changi Airport will be covered by CAL. While between Tanah Merah and Expo will be covered by services 12, 38 and CAL. While between Tanah Merah and Upp Changi Rd East will be by service 2.

Ang Mo Kio St 64/65/Ave 9 now covered by service 70, may be served by propose-to-amend service 86.

Service 80 may be withdrawn, it has little chance of being amended as Sengkang and Hougang passengers can take the NEL to Serangoon and transfer to CCL.

However, at least one service need to be retained to ply the stretch of Upp Paya Lebar Rd between Upp Serangoon Rd and Bartley Rd not served by CCL, which may be services 22 or 76.

SBST have said they are going to cause a lot of problems if they withdraw Sv. 80 as it’s the only service for Geylang residents to take to town.

One service currently plying Geylang Rd/Sims Ave can be diverted into Geylang East Central.

When service 864 was integrated in 1999, passengers along Geylang Rd/Sims Ave (between Aljunied MRT and Paya Lebar MRT) lose their direct link to Hougang Central and Sengkang, they have to walk to Geylang East Central for service 80.

Service 97: It can't be amended. There's links between Buona Vista/Alexandra Rd & Raffles Place. It may probably be amended to loop at Finlayson Green.

Service 106, 111, 502: I don't think it will be amended. Too bad there's no Dhoby Ghaut Bus Interchange. If there is, these services can terminate there. Smile If amendment is to be made, I'd suggest looping at Handy Rd/Orchard Rd/Penang Rd Junction.

Service 107: I don't think it'll be amended, especially after Service 82 has been withdrawn from the Beach Rd & Shenton Way area.

Service 162: This service gives direct links between Sin Ming/Bishan North Estates & Orchard Rd Area.

Service 960: So far, Queen St Terminal is a Johor-Bound Terminal, especially Svc 171 & 390 has been withdrawn from the Terminal. I don't think any local services will terminate there.

Phrase 2:

Service 16: This service covers links between Tiong Bahru/Orchard Area & Dunman/Joo Chiat Areas.

Service 30: This service serves from Boon Lay. If anyone were to notice the dep times, this and Svc 154 departs at 0020 hrs specially for the JIE workers. Some of them could live in Bedok/Eunos/Old Airport Area.

Service 63: What will happen to Ubi Estate residents if your amendment were to be made? It was integrated in 2002/3 with Svc 382.

Service 70: Direct Links between Paya Lebar/Guillemard Rd & Shenton Way is lost.

Service 80: Direct Links between Geylang East Estate & Tg Pagar/HBF is cut off. However, it could be a possibilty that it may be amended.

These are just my comments. I don't think the CCL Rationalisation Exercise will be that great Razz

probably a hard balance to strike between inconvenience and non-duplication. here's the routes residents can take after my rationalisation. that said, u can take it that it's my view. hehe. i was hoping for more proposals=)

I was thinking if it'll be too long for the drivers if TIBS 960 becomes a loop service to Bugis MRT (a second TIBS 966?). But demand for TIBS 960 at Bugis is very very high.

- a swing nose crossing from BLV-bound platform to DBG-bound at BLV (SNCs are found anywhere else)

"Trains will be stabled in the over-run tunnels and platforms at Dhoby Ghaut station and at the Boulevard crossover sidings where light maintenance will be carried out."

i wonder what will happen if a major overhaul is needed.. especially when the new trains are delivered it could have manufacturing faults (gearbox fragments incident on new black bodied Kawasaki trains in 2000).. mobile car lifting in the tunnels? that could damage the tunnels or at the least add wear and tear..

"Apart from Dhoby Ghaut station at the western end of the Marina Line, three future interchanges have been planned at the Convention Centre, Millenia and Nicoll Highway stations.
