Yes, if Sv. 30 were to go through town it would be a much longer journey. I dislike the Sv. 30 route through Tang Dynasty area, though.

I know 961 is horrendously long… It takes about an hour to get from Bt Timah to Lor 1 Geylang (Kallang) alone where it goes to Bt Merah and Raffles City and so on while 67 takes a much more direct route of ~35 minutes… That’s not withstanding the fact that it takes about 1 hour for 961 to travel from woodlands to bt timah!

I don't mind. Jurong East is relatively underutilized, if that is done it would free up some space at Boon Lay.

bus 74 - From Buona Vista to Lornie Road..., imagine the route, from North Buona Vista Road->Dover Road->Commonwealth Ave West->Clementi Road->Bukit TImah Road->Adam Road->Lornie Road...

and compare that route with bus 165 -> From Holland V->Farrer Road->Adam Road->Lornie Road.

I used to travel from Holland V to Toa Payoh Central: Here're the 3 alternatives:

a. Take MRT from Buona Vista to Toa Payoh via Raffles Place.
b. Take Bus 145
c. Take Bus 165 along Holland Road and make transfer to Bus 157 along Lornie Road.

I always opt for alternative C! Despite bus transfer, it is faster and just as affordable as other options.

try SBST 165 to Farrer Rd then SBST 153 to Toa Payoh Central.. saves u 10-15mins..!

I agree Boon Lay is too crowded, but it may be diffcult to divert bus services to Jurong East, cos factories nearer to Boon Lay.

Think Boon Lay interchange should be expanded, still got land beside. or extension of MRT line to divert residents of Jurong West from all alighting at Boon Lay may be nice, though unlikely to happen.

I was thinking perhaps BNL Int COULD be expanded, one side for JIS / Feeder, the other for trunk.

I dont think Service 30 154 157 and 174 will ever be amended, especially 30 154. This is because their last buses depart @0020 hrs daily to cater to the last bus arrival of the JIS at BL Int. If u've noticed 30 and 154's route, it cuts through many parts of singapore as they provide links between the west and the east for the workers to get home.

Yes, I know that, but it's really quite pointless to amend Sv. 30 anyway.

It could be pointless, but SBS Transit can make amendments due to:

Upcoming CCL. We can't confirm now what services wouldn't be amended. IMO, there will be cases like service 62.

Keep the distance short so as to fall within the PTC regulations.

Ya quite true, Sv. 62 indeed does come to mind. No need for amendment but they heck-care and just do it anyway.
