SBS had wanted to amend 133 and 147. Looks like it is not going to get through.

147 may get a better frequency of 4-8 mins aft 103 is shortened.

i will perosnally bomb SBS HQ if they dare touch 147 (laughers)

at any rate 147 should have been shortenened to end at new bridge road.

my theory is that SBS needs a backbone service and they made a good choice with 147.
105 and 2 are other "backbone services"

Yes, Sv. 147 is the only service left duplicating NEL, just in case of any problems with the line they can divert pax to Sv. 147 as well.

SBST can actually withdrawn service 147 if it wants to. Why? Because the service duplicates so many services as follow:

Service 105 between Clementi town and Commonwealth MRT.
Service 196 between Buona Vista and Outram Park MRT.
Service 961 between Queensway and Chinatown.
NEL between Outram Park and Serangoon.
Service 70 between Serangoon Central and Yio Chu Kang Rd.
Service 74 between Hougang Ave 2 and Hougang Central.

Don’t look things at just one side of something! Sv 147 is a popular svc for many residents staying in Serangoon and Hougang Central! It’s also a great link to Bt Merah, Chinatown, etc. Like what SBS 9818A said, it can be a backbone svc that could support the NEL if it’s faulty. It ain’t bad that one svc duplicates MRT line.

Many passengers would think that way, however, apparently some of the relevant authorities think that is it a waste of resources and a factor what is snatching "business" from the NEL.
