tranquilice SG

With the withdrawal of service 85, then there will be no more direct connections between:
1. Great World City and HarbourFront
2. The NE corridors and Great World City

I may propose to SBST to extend service 36 to HarbourFront via service 85 route from Orchard MRT station onwards.

Where will services 81, 97, 106 and 111 amended to?

What are the routes of services 634 and 650?

Airbus330Captain SG

I am absolutely LIVID with SBST and LTA arrangement . Now i cant take bus 81 from Little India back to home .. I am going to complain to SBST about it . (Dont piss me off " you know who and your stupid comments ) .

Evil or Very Mad

Airbus330Captain SG

Duplicate post .

ZYX has made the correct guess on service 81.

Why are so many services looping at Marina Centre?! Shocked In the begining, it's service 107 and 133, followed by services 700A, 857, 70X, 162X, Express 501...

tranquilice SG

Where do you live? If you are living in Tampines, you can still take services 23 or 65 from Little India. For Pasir Ris, I have no comment. Mr. Green Pasir Ris passengers have very little choices.

With the amendment, service 106 will duplicate the routes of:
77 between Holland V and Suntec/Marina Centre.
7 between Holland V and Victoria St.
174 between Farrer Rd and North Bridge Rd.

off_service SG

Not only that. There are few more services from Orchard to Marina Centre. More and more duplication (e.g services 36, 171, 518, 700).

tranquilice SG

That will be too much trouble for you. After the amendment, the best way is to take service 23 and transfer at Tampines.

SBS9818A SG

This is insane. Why are there so many services terminating(or looping at) Suntec City? It's high time to build a bus interchange to accomodate these services, as they tend to be very long in the case of a loop(Sv. 97, Sv. 111, Sv. 502).

Looks like a lot of services will disappear from Hougang, Sv. 511 and Sv. 512 will be amended, while Sv. 97 and Sv. 111 will have a different terminating point. Look out for the demise of Tridents on Sv. 111 as it will be entirely controlled by BBDEP/ARBP from now on.

SBS9818A SG

That was the main reason why they built the MRT line in the first place. Too bad then, you will have to take MRT to S'goon and transfer to Sv. 81 or you can take Sv. 23 to Tampines and transfer bus, MUCH faster that way than via bus or bus and MRT.

Airbus330Captain SG

Thanks for your comments and its highly APPRECIATED but I am not as rich as you and also … if this happens to your service you will be in my shoes . MRT ? Forget it , How many times do i have to tell you ? Let me make myself clear , I hate taking mrts especially peak hours Full Stop .

oliver_yuen87 SG

I don't understand.. why must PTC or whoever strip passengers of a direct link?? Must they force us to transfer to NEL?? that's so not practical!!

Aren;t these changes suppose to take place next year?

tranquilice SG

They are not amended but withdrawn.

tranquilice SG

The changes came too fast! At first, I thought the amendments will be announced sometime in late September.

The MRT has top priority over bus services. So, when there's duplication, bus services have to be sacrified.

Currently, there's still services 82, 103 and 147 duplicating most parts of the NEL, let hope that SBST and PTC will not do anything bad to the 3 services.

SBS9818A SG

That isn't my comments. It will be what SMRT/SBST/TIBS/PTC say.

oliver_yuen87 SG

Will there be a phase 3 of rationalising of services?

Phase 1 - improve bus connections to the NEL stations

Phase 2 bus service changes will involve nine bus services which either parallel or duplicate the NEL for a large part of their routes
