Noisy Bus: CSS 310U

I took CSS 310U on service 608 yesterday (30 June), there was this loud irritating sound from the engine. I was sitting at the left side of the last row, give me headache.

Maybe its the turbo in action. Hey, can anyone explain the loud "eeeeeeeeeeeeewwwwww" sound from the engine that is emitted by some Lance 211s when they accelearte. This is especially loud on TIB1007 and sometimes on TIB1014. Is it due to the turbo or the gears in the gearbox are straining and need some oiling

Maybe.

However CSS 310U has the noise when the bus is in motion, not just when accerlerating.

yes i also notice this shrill eeeeew when i go for my lance 245 spotting sessions in June. i also think it is turbo thing

It could possibly be the turbo whistle. This situation only happened when the bus accelerated, although the sound is unnerving I still like Lance 211s a lot!

Yes. All Lance 211s, but I don't know why 1015J in particular, is REALLY bad bus.

Yah.Frezzer in the front,oven in the back.I have even put the horrible bus in my signature as the most horrible bus Cool .

TIB1014 is a toaster no matter where you sit, except that you get mildly crisp in the front and severe burns at the last row.

Are you sure? My ride on this particular bus was good, aircon is cooling during the extremely hot afternoon of Saturday (yesterday). Sitting in the middle of the bus.

The only reason that I think TIB1186Z's experience was bad, is that the driver probably adjusted the thermostat higher. Assuming that latter can be adjusted.

I remember the cooling effect because of the recent slammings. Did a comparison with the bus that I transferred next, TIB523R (965) and 1145S (903). Both was slightly warmer than 1014L.

Possibly. Even 1007H aircon was much colder than the DAF I was on previously.

I don't think so.

Many times I took Lance 211s the aircon is bad, especially at the rear. I find the front cooling enough for an aircon bus, but not the rear.

Yeah maybe you are right, but is it too much of a coincidence considering that TIB1014L is in that condition in the morning, night and afternoon for 6 months?!
