The Trident was introduced in HK in 1996. SBS 9888Y indeed was
launched around the same timeframe as the HK VSOs. The body kits
for the Tridents(by Duple Metsec) arrived late due to overwhelming
orders by HK operators like KMB, CTB, NWFB et al and as such SBS
weren't able to body the buses in time for them to be launched.
