Perhaps shortworking trips can be introduced from Sengkang to all the schools in Bukit Timah area using double-decks, only in the morning, while for the afternoon it starts from Bukit Timah and winds up to Sengkang, again using DD buses. Maybe I should suggest this to SBST.

I really hope to see bus 9 in DD . I know that there is a height restriction at Changi Cargo Complex , perhaps they can use the DD bus on bus 9A route and then after 9A route , they can return back to Bedok on bus 9 route . That means the DD appears only 9A to the direction of changi airport cargo and then heading back to Bedok from Pasir ris Drive 1 .

I have thought of this idea for svc 105 too. It's shortworking svc, 105A, travels from S'goon Int to Whitley Rd (o/s Tanglin CC) has no height restriction. However, I think SBST might not wanted too as S'goon Ave 3 seems to be quite narrow for any D/D to drive in.

However, you all must think, is there a way for the dd to make U-turn to the other direction. If it's making a huge loop before going it can turn back, it would not be advisable.

what i admire Tibs 190 is that, they have empty buses going from CCK all the way to Orchard, to give passengers going home from Orchard an empty bus.

These services are there for a long time already, started by SBS on 190 years ago. This is the supplement services to cope with the high demand for the service.

Sometimes i see 2-3 bendy buses operating on 190 service in Orchard !!

The demands of 190 is very very high. You can see 3 or 4 service 190 buses (be it bendys or 12m) compared to 1 services 851, 61, 961, 167 or 970 buses.

That's right! There was once I waited 190 o/s Somerset MRt stn and one went off! However, after 3 mins, another 190 came by!

I would say that 851 has a high frequency also. 74 has also high frequency, and its VO 2-axle and VO 3-axle bus fleet which comes every 5 minutes reminds me of SBS 190 before it was converted to fully air-con.

In that case, why did Tibs still keep 700, esp. 700A? 700A plies almost the same route as 190. They can transfer the buses to 190 instead

Service 74 and 851
Service 851 always jam, thus making waiting difficult. Service 74, never ever take after Ngee Ann Poly in afternoon peak and before Ang Mo Kio MRT in morning peak. Cannot board the bus. Also, service 74 has much lesser VO 3 axle.

Service 700 / 700A
Perhaps to supplement service 190?

Yes, the demand for Sv. 190 is very high. I remember when TIBS first got hold of Sv. 190, passengers were complaining that they could not get on, so TIBS had to deploy 2 buses at one go(be it 2 bendys or 1 bendy and 1 normal). Even when SBST were operating Sv. 190 they already had problems with the enormous amount of passengers. TIBS has really won over a lucrative money-making route.

I guess SBS are short of buses not only at that time and also now , hopefully they buy more extra buses so that they can introduced them on packed single deck routes like 36 !!! . 2 buses at one time is the best .

i remember Tibs kept on using TIB888X when it first took over 190.

36? very frequent. But there was one time i got very pissed off when i got on a crowded bus, the driver stopped at MArina Ter for toilet, and an empty 36 passed by!!!!! Another time was at the Changi Ter, i gave the Mk4 in front a miss, coz i was waiting for the Volvo B10BLE 1688 parked behind it. The driver started the bus, then when a Mk3 came along behind, she said board the Mk3 instead!! argh

Svc 36 has quite a regular frequency, especially during peak hours! You might 2 two Svc 36 buses running along Orchard Road.

Well, that couldn't be possible. Somtimes bus gets jammed on the roads.
