iori8888 SG I went to east coast just now for seafood dinner with my parents. Its to celebrate my birthday with my family. Then I saw No Signboard seafood restaurant, An Alaska Crab swimming in one of the tanks! So I ordered the one and only Alaska Crab there. Normal Crab 100g = $3 Alaska Crab 100g = $16 Its a 2.3kg crab. So... around $380 with ++. The taste was great! They cook it with ginger, but I asked for sliced lemon. Cause from my person experience, it tastes better with lemon. Its very fleshy, unlike normal crabs; you can get a mouth-full of crab meat with this one. I then ask the manager why the No Signboard at geylang I went the last time tastes like crap. She told me different place different taste, things like Alaska Crab can never be found in geylang branch. Now I know why everyone compliments on No Signboard! *Maybe because of what Ive ordered, there are 2 waiters beside my table at all times. Haha!
SpeedStar SG No wonder, I last time go geylang branch and ate their crab but found it quite simple….not that fantastic

nightzip SG nice nice, up to now, me so old liao still never tasted Alaskan crab before. heheh...maybe next time i should go try....but a bit expensive leh... just for 1 dish already $380....hmm....that alone is a large portion of my monthly salary leh...
iori8888 SG You call them and ask first. Cause not everytime got the crab one. Alaska crabs got a few kind. Snow Crabs got long skinny legs, almost no spikes. Red King Crabs, the one I eat. Blue King Crab bigger and claw bigger too. Look like Red ones but got slight orange at legs when cooked and tip of spike is blue, not red or white. Golden or Brown King Crab are smaller. Cheaper also. Others not so common.
lasboriquas SG talking abt alaskan crabs did any of u guyz see the discovery channel?they r showing a challenge by a couple of boats during the crab season…i guess its considered to be one of the world’s most dangerous jobs..
froz SG wow i not rich guy. im poor guy and cannot afford $380 big nice crabs. but the picture is interesting and nice. but i like crabs also. spicy and hot 1. eat crabs finish cannot eat mangosteem or will die.. is true or urban legends?? anybody knoe?

nightzip SG yah, think some chemical reaction, like eat durian cannot drink XO or other liquor, cuz will ferment the durian and make stomach bloat later, then ur big intestines may burst...
