I just played it for a few hours and I must say that this game
reminds me a lot about Dungeon Siege 2, and I do not like to play
Dungeon Siege.
This game has good sound effects, graphics and music which is
definitely better than World of Warcraft.
However, there are some gameplay issues which I would like to
comment:
1. High respawn rate of monsters in hostile areas. This will create
3 big problems:
A) Increase the tendency of players to just camp at a spot and go
AFK.
B) Traveling backwards or retreating from an area is a hassle,
since even areas that you have cleared will be full of monsters in
a several seconds.
C) Makes combat very "mechanic" and predictable. "Mechanic" means
doing the same thing over and over again.
2. Limitation in skillsets.
I not completely sure about this but from what I can see so far, if
you use a certain Skill Stance, the character can only use skills
that belong to that particular stance. For this part, they can
learn to be more flexible like Guild Wars, where a character can
use any skill that belongs to any class of any level.
3. Feels like a RTS game.
Just like in Warcraft 3 and many real-time strategy games, you can
just give your units commands like hold ground, attack move and
patrol to have your characters automatically fight for you.
At this moment, it is a free-to-play-game, so there will be
players.
But, once it becomes a pay-to-play-game, most players will be
gone.
Fortunately for them, this is just Beta so they still can do some
major improvements to the game before it is officially
launched.
