What is your view on MMORPGs?

Well, to me, its a complete waste of time... You spend the whole day walking around a virtual world gaining levels and the only skill you gain is a sore arm from clicking all day...

I prefer competitive games like dota, CS, battlefield, starcraft, etc... They require actual skill like micro-management and foresight...

When I'm not playing these games, I play good story games like Silent Hill and GTA...

what do ya guys think?

I oso like competitive games over MMORPG. I seldom chiong the MMORPG, just slackly go with it. When I grind, I don’t think bout the game, I just relax, think bout other things etc. Slowly slowly, ure exp bar will fill.

Played some MMORPGS sometime ago and decided to more or less stop coz it sucks up my life. Realised that I may get addicted so I decided to stay off it.

Nowadays, I juz play single player games. Recent fav game was STALKER. Now going to play Jade Empire. Hope its fun.

if there was a MMORPG without the level grinding.. it would be heaven. but now i dun play anymore. last played was Maple. now i rarely play MUDs. much prefer CS.

mmorpgs can be a good place to make friends....the real fun of mmorpgs i feel is really pvp and forming groups to attack mons together, what makes mmorpgs sukky is the grinding...

i feel it is really hard for a solo player to get addicted to mmorpgs, i always play solo and when the quests dun come fast enough and it is grinding i get bored easily.

the mmorpg i've played the longest was survival project cos of its massive pvp.

i'm playing chinese mmorpgs now cos it's last grindy and u have some of the lastest mmoprgs from japan and korea having chinese versions first...there is a game called wonderland online and it's battle system if those final fantasy style one.....gonna try it soon...

Some Muds are good...better than the current bunch of mmorpg. Some of the skills in WoW are just plain stupid e.g like thief have to physically position your character directly behind the monster to backstab, meaning its virtually impossibe for a solo thief to get stabs in combat. The mud im playing the thief gets a skill that allows him to warp to the monsters blind spot and stab it for half normal backstab dmg. Of course a stab at the back before combat will do full damage. Like shinpo/sonido in bleach. Also if you like to solo you can multiclass e.g mage/warrior/thief or cleric/warrior/thief. Takes 3x the xp to level and gets some minus but a whole lot more interesting that a single class warrior in WoW that does nothing but taunts the monster... how fun is spamming taunt to taunt the monster? I think I fell asleep.

Then in Muds what race you are actually matters alot for choosing a class combo. In WoW races are almost purely cosmetic.

For example this mud im playing as a troll cl/wa/th. Trolls there actually regenerate wounds at an astonishing rate. In the deepest darkness they can accept become the bogeyman to become unparalleled fighting machines. The disadvantage is in their normal form fire or acid stops their regen and sunlight can kill them when they are in bogeyman form. Also trolls can't sneak properly as thieves being clumsy. This is just one of the race with many others to choose from.

addiction is never a good sign, especially MMORPG. eats up too much time. gaming should be a hobby, not make your life doesn’t revolve around it. self control is very important.
