Poll: Rent or Buy?

sillyme SG

too all console gamers (playstation, xbox, nintendo)

would you rather buy (assuming originals) games or rent?

s|nNeD SG

i would rent if its originals… but then again… wah then how many copies of the same game title the rental place would have to keep?

eutjin SG

good question.

i'll rent to test out a new game. and if i really like the game, then buy it Wink

sillyme SG

there are ways to go around this problem Smile

do you know any shops that are renting out games? what are the rates?

FireIce SG

depending on the rental period
no point rushing to play jus to return before the due.....

if i can afford i will buy
after im done i will sell it.......
if the game is good i will keep.....in future when i boliao can take out and play all over agn

sillyme SG

i've heard of hire-purchase schemes in singapore.. would that appeal to you?

sillyme SG

how long would a rental period make sense? 2 weeks? a month?

windjammer SG

i dun hv xbox, playstation or nintendo... i used to buy original pc games... rent too troublesome as u hv to quickly finished the game b4 the rental date is due.

Mr. Green

eutjin SG

it would. but, the thing is this. i go back to msia often ...... and urmm, "budget" versions are available there Wink but, kinda hard to get them into singapore. and cost is everything

ooooh ...... noticed that this is targetted towards console gamers, which i'm not. i'm a PC guy ........ well, i guess the same question can apply.

s|nNeD SG

no leh... never heard of such shops before leh...

sillyme SG

but with console games, you have memory cards to save games.. can rent another time to resume..

sillyme SG

so what's the scene in malaysia like? infested with piracy?

any shops that sells originals that is doing well?

sillyme SG

have have.. very rare.. want to find out about them Smile

realitybites SG

Based on feedback from friends most of them would prefer to buy 2nd hand ORIGINAL games Wink

sillyme SG

2nd hand ah?

ya, makes sense.. it's cheaper.. provided it's in good condition..

perhaps trade in games, so that can buy new games cheaper?

windjammer SG

i find it troublesome to rent. i dunno wat other feels.

skinnybeanie SG
