Driving an auto car, which foot do you brake with?

the reason is because they are stepping on acceleration and brake at the same time ... This way of doing is for people when passing puddle of water to gain...

Just a survey to find out from auto car drivers, which foot do you use for braking? Left or right? And why is that so?

I know that general opinion has it that only the right foot should be applied on both pedals for safety purposes but when I find that using the right foot for both pedals, there is danger of stepping on the wrong pedal in an emergency situation. Left allows more control.

What about you guys?

for most, it gives better control..

and also, when you are braking, you are supposed to not accelerate... so there is this safety thing..

Your left foot is not doing nothing - it's bracing your body against the floorboard and the seat so you have good leverage to press on the accelerator and the brake.

And like the other guy said, you're not supposed to step on the accelerator and the brake at the same time.

i use right because the habit of using right arose from manual driving and never bothered to change.

besides, i tried using left to brake before almost became a e-brake....... control not there though it could jsut be not used to it.

For me very hard to curb the habit cos I started taking auto lessons first before changing to manual lessons and now getting auto car but do not want to develop a bad habit in case I want to drive manual vans etc in the future. Yet I feel uncomfortable while using only the right foot.

So most experienced drivers will suggest developing the right foot habit for good?

If your right foot is on the accelerator and you step your left foot on the brake, what would happen ???

So for safety reason, it would be better to use the right leg only. Besides, it would be difficult to use left leg to brake ... I tried but find it very hard . . .

F1 drivers tend to use left foot braking as it allows the fastest speed through the corner. But on normal roads. Use your right foot.

If u are using only the right leg, isnt ur right leg always on either one of the 2 pedals at all time? So if it was on the accelerator and u wish to bake in an emergency, how can u end up stepping on the same pedal if u are only using the rite leg?

sometimes while on the roads, i see some cars that are travelling at speed and yet their brake lights are on. I doubt that its always the case of electrical problems loh.... i'm talking about Camrys and E200s and such!

When you're following behind one, it really annoys you with confusion... "do i need to slow down...? wait i'm going at 70.. 71.. 72... then again he braking... ah nbccb *#%$!!" (overtake)
