SnowFlag SG This forum is rather quiet these days.... I have recorded a song with a classical guitar on my PC. The recording can be improved when I have better microphone and practice. I've never been to me.mp3 Also read this info license Enjoy this song. [Edited again on 4th April 04, 1:30am] I have replace the music above with a newer recording. [Edited on 8th April 04, 12:50am] Change from "I have" to "I've"
kopiosatu SG nice... now to put a bit more feelings into it... btw, CAN SEND ME THE SCORES? hahahahaha
SnowFlag SG Sorry Kopi, I can't because of copyright problem. If you want the score, what I can suggest is that you can listen to the music and write out the score. Not that difficult, really. First listen to the song and determine what beat it is (this song has a 4/4), Secondly, open the song with a sound editor and listen to a small section of the song at a time and try to translate the musics into score. Open and listen with a sound editor allows you to replay easily. More songs may follow.... -SnowFlag
SnowFlag SG Another song. This was a popular cantonese song and is now played with a classical guitar. Chameleon
SnowFlag SG Another song. This was a popular mandarin song. The music is recorded using a low-end mic which explains the lack of feeling YueLiangDaiBiaoWoDeXin Anyone like this music too (I don't mean my playing, just the original music)?
SnowFlag SG This is a classical guitar music composed by A.Cano. Quite a romantic piece. Moderato Bismarck, If you click on the link, your media player should automatically pop out. Go to File | Save Media As and you should know how to save the file. Otherwise, just let the media player plays the music. To all: Best listen with a headphone than a normal computer speaker.
SnowFlag SG Next is a song composed by Nino Rota...A time for us The lyric is as follows: A Time For Us From the Movie "Romeo Juliet" Andy Williams A time for us some day there'll be When chains are torn by courage born Of a love that's free A time when dreams so long denied Can flourish as we unveil The love we now must hide *A time for us at last to see A life worthwhile for you and me And with our love through tears and thorns We will endure as we pass surely Through every storm A time for us someday there'll be A new world, a world of shining hope For you and me (Repeat *)
M©+square SG Try listening to Roger Wang and Tommy Emmanuel It might help inspire you to life your skills to a few notch.
SnowFlag SG I have did a search for Roger Wang and Tommy Emmanuel. Seems they play the acoustic guitars. Ya, I know what you mean mc-square - I need some feeling in my songs. But then I want to say that they play music in group - group music will sounds better than solo. Anyway, my playing needs improving. I have record and improve the b/m I've never been to me Chameleon YueLiangDaiBiaoWoDeXin More songs or improving may come.....
M©+square SG For your info. They both played the band except for drums using one guitar. Group music is done by one person.
kopiosatu SG trying holding the notes here and there... no need to follow the scores entirely, play it at your own pace. this isn't fully classical, so there's way less rigidity, even for a purely classical piece, the tempo and feeling of the song is in your hands.
SnowFlag SG This is an old mandarin song by Liu Jia Chang. It was popular in the old days. The arrangement for the classical guitar is good Seagull [added on 8 April 04] By the way, anyone knows where to get the lyrics for this song, seagull (also named hai ou)?
SnowFlag SG For those of you who coudn't access the music, just to say the ftp site will be down for a few days.
SnowFlag SG The site is working again I have added another music piece, a classical this time. Romance De Amor I think this piece is quite "popular". The composer of this spanish song is unknown.
MooKu SG Hi flaggie! Thanks for posting links to the guitar pieces. I must say I enjoyed listening to them. I used to find stuff played on the guitar extremely boring, and I'd turn off the radio whenever the guitar classical music came on Symphony 92.4FM But now I actually find some are good for easy listening! Thanks for sharing!
CheekyCow SG The pieces sound good. I think it can be improved by adding variations of your own. But the first piece is quite out of tune. I think that spoilt the whole piece. Being in tune is one of the basic rules to follow in music.
SnowFlag SG Just guessing what u meant. Actually, there are distortions in some pieces, due to the computer mic I am using. It is always caused by certain notes on the 3rd guitar string. So, I am not sure if you mean the distortion, or the piece out of tune. But then some day, I hope to upgrade my equipment I have just recorded another song called Freight Train. I find it rather interesting.
SnowFlag SG Good Morning to All, Mooku and CheekyCow, thank you for appreciating the music pieces I was abit different. Maybe, I was learning classical guitar when young, so classical guitar music interests me on the radio leh. Nice suggestion. I will probably come up with more music pieces, but no promises. Some of them are: 1) The way we were 2) If 3) What a wonderful world 4) Cavatina 5) All at Once 6) Yesterday 7) Soleado Plaisir D'Amour Actually, some of them not really classical type.
