jollyjack SG Hey people, was wondering if you guys would know who are the singers who sing chinese R&B? David Tao, ZjL and Wang LH are the only ones i'm familiar with... oh, and kudos to those that went to the David Tao concert, it was damn damn good. Lets hope he comes again :p
MooKu SG Who is ZJL... oh Zhou Jie Lun ah.. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa the concert!!!!!!!! I wish that night will repeat itself truly truly enjoyed myself I'm sure everyone else did ehh ehh he said "SEE YOU NEXT YEAR"
MooKu SG dunno eh. basically I think none of the songs are suitable for k-ing.. they're much better for listening than singing them.. except for some of wang lee hom's, like I can think of "ni bu zai" for example.. Actually, R&B is nothing much worth to be excited about since it's only one of the many genres of music... BUT because the Mandarin Pop scene is so saturated with trashy songs that almost have the same styles without much breakthrough, R&B stands out as something "new" and naturally appeals to many, perhaps because 1) R&B can be found in alot of western pop songs, which are widely listened to.. and 2) it's quite an easy genre of music to digest Maybe next time I come up with another genre hahahaha then be labelled something funny
jollyjack SG argh ... server didn't accept my initial post *fumes*. Anyways, thanks for the feedback. I find chinese lyrics having the potential to be more expressive (as compared to english)... but don't take my word for it... my fav song for the david tao concert for the evening was probably the 'remade' version of tian tian oh well, ktv anyone? lol
MooKu SG I prefer the new version too, but not entirely. I hated the beginning. It just sounded kinda.. out of place, like it didn't have much relation to the rest of the song.. like, ah yes the style of the beginning is quite different from the rest.. that's what I think lar.
MooKu SG Frankly speaking..... I'm beginning to wonder how long R&B can keep up in the Mandarin Pop scene. Now it's still relatively new.. or fresh perhaps would be a better word, to the mandarin pop listeners... But maybe after a while people may just start to feel that there really isn't much to R&B, that styles still repeat itself etc...
laurence82 SG My first fav chinese singer was wang lee hom, followed by zhou jie lun and then david tao Think three of them are shi li pai unlike others, which are more ou xiang pai
