actually, for something to evolve, it requires certain
circumstances.
One of the circumstance is if something doen't have any other
choice but to follow a certain set of steps.
Example:
If the world is to be covered in water, and I have no choice but to
live in water, then I'll try my best to learn to swim or else I'll
be dead. Then knowing how to swim will become my trait, it's
instilled in me, naturally everyone in this world have to swim to
survive. It will become the trait of our kind. The babies that are
be borned would also inherit this trait, but inheriting this trait
is not an overnight process, it take a few generations. Then maybe
as time goes by, we might develop bigger lungs so as to stay longer
underwater, this will then become part of the future generations,
it goes on and on lah..
only if we are forced to adapt, would we be able to evolve but at
the moment there are no such event that forces us to adapt, so no
evolution, but one real life example would be the evolution of
women, they are evoloving into more like men as in their status,
salary, jobs..etc.
