PaJeRoMiNi Ver 1.0 SG Giant Squid "Went to the Mote Aquarium of Sarasota, Florida, last year, and took a picture next to their encased giant squid specimen. It's only 1 of 2 in the United States, according to a sign there. It was really cool looking (and freaky)." This is considered one of the smaller specimens, some giant squid hauled up by fishing boats are known to have reached lengths of 30 to 40 metres~! Maybe sightings of these giant squids in the past have fueled speculation that the Kraken, a giant squid like monster that destroys ships on the high seas, exists~ Calamari anyone? Here's a link for those who can't view the photo above~
ratinacage SG ahhh....from the deep blue.....i always beLIEve that they are out there in the deep blue sea.....the one place where humans will never conquer....
AngelDark SG for a squid that size, it's too bitter to be eaten.... because of a certain chemical that is present in the depth they are living in... i can't remember at the moment... but it's similar to soap...
the Bear SG no.. i think it's ammonia... dunno what happened to the project where they were going to smear a deep submersible with a cam full of the sex hormone of a giant squid to try and film one in the natural habitat also, i think somewhere in the US a long time ago, a giant octopus washed up on shore.. it would have been about 100 feet across, when tentacles spread out...
