It was reported by TV3 in Malaysia that a man had successfully captured a Langsuir and imprisoned her in a glass jar. A TV crew was sent to this man's house at malacca and they captured the Langsuir on National TV. The 'Harian Metro' (newspaper) also published this article. It was said that this vicious Langsuir or pontianak had possessed and terrorised a girl in Melacca. The Langsuir was said to have made a cotton tree (pokok kapas), which grew near the girl's house, its home. The man, whom had the ability to capture this thing, was called for help and was only captured after about an hour or so of 'fierce fights'. The 'creature' was said to have the ability to transform itself according to its surroundings. At the time of its capture, it was said that the creature was on the cotton tree..... "

She can be identified by her incredible long nails, green robes and long black hair, which hands down to her ankles. The hair is supposedly that long to conceal a hole in the back of her neck, through which she drinks the blood of children. Once a woman has become a "langsuir", the best way to get rid of her is to capture her, cut her nails and stuff her tresses into the hole at the back of her neck. Once this is accomplished, she will become tame (or cured?). So much in fact that she can marry and have children, living for many years as a normal human being."
