Any handphone to recommend?

I've been using my Nokia 8250 handphone for 9 years til now.

Now i'm quite out of touch wif latest technology and all the 3G, 3.5G and now 3GS phones lol

My telco is Singtel and i'm on classic 100 plan.

I'm looking for a new phone which can have camera (3MP at least) , Not touchscreen (difficult to type) and long battery life. Other features like radio, surf net are bonus..

Of cos, not too expensive model.. no need latest model also, i don't care to keep up wif fashion lol.

Get Sony Ericsson w890i or other similar phones. I recommend this cos it has a very good quality yet cheap. I used it for 2 yrs. As a student, dropped it a lot of times, also no problem. Once even dropped from storey 2 to 1. Lasting and basic to use. But this phone is 2 yrs ago model, so it wud be dirt cheap but rare to find. Mine every 3 days charge one time.

Basic yet lasting phones hard to find now, unless those army phones like nokia 1600 etc la. Haha. Candybar phone are the best phones.

Thanks.. so for this model i'll probably have to buy second-hand ? Do i buy from those retail shops where they put all the handphones in a glass cupboard? how much are those roughly?

do u have any other models to recommend?

There are new ones, is around $260? Basically, older the phone, harder to find but it will be cheaper. Buy from where also same de, just make sure they dont cheat u by removing memory card or wat lo. Just dont go simlim or funan etc buy la. Warranty card must be brand new when u purchase ur phone. Hmm, i just recommend phones that are not flip types or sliding ones, then material dun get so plasticy ones. Smaller screen = longer battery life. Another good phone is sony ericsson c902, very good quality phone, but costs $418. Nokia 6300 is another solid phone, and is form nokia. Go to handphone shops and ask around lo, feel the phones, if it looks solid and u like it, can type well, it suits u le.

Diff phone suits diff ppl, go to the shop and slowly see wat u wan lo.

yeps. samsung are the leaders in touchscreen i tink. if u wan stylish yet lower price, get samsung f480i lo. smaller screen, so more battery juice. If not, try samsung jet. cool phone.

Not bad worh. My Nokia 8250 bought around that time the battery already useless le. Used many HP models since and recently bought Nokia 5630 XpressMusic. Battery so far won't drain out by even a bar in a day (basically my usage is occasional listening to music and sending a few SMSes a day and perhaps answering one call). Phone is $88 if you use iOne Plan and its a candybar phone with 3.2MP camera. Got radio and can surf net

wow..so many phones.. where shud i start? shud i go Singtel hello! shop or those retail hdb shop? i think i wud jus get a second hand phone so it's cheaper cos my present phone also second hand free some more lol.

up to u. If u wanna recontract wif singtel, just go get a $0 phone, and get a sturdy one lo. Nowadays $0 phones wif contract also can last for very long.

Buy Sony Ericsson C510! It has
- 3.5G network
- 3.2 Megapixel camera with 30 FPS recording
- Active camera lens cover
- Video call camera
- Small and light
- First SE phone to have 'MSN-like' SMS conversation
- Big type of keypad
- Large screen (not touchscreen!)
Most of all:
- Its the first SE phone to have 'smile detector' included inside the phone!

I bought this with contract for $98 like 6 months back, so it should be $0 now.

Second choice:
Get a Sony Ericsson W660i. It has
- 2 Megapixel with 15 FPS recording
- Small and light
- Its a walkman phone
- Quite a durable phone; i accidentally dropped my phone into a cup of water at least thrice, and nothing happened!
- Video call camera

It shld be cheap by now, since it has been on sale since last 2 years.

I think i going to recontract wif Singtel for my Classic plan since i can get $0 phone.. but now the promotions dun seem to hv those phones above.. Also i hav loyalty discount since i been on this plan for 9 yrs.. and also can get monthly rebate of $4!

What abt Nokia 5800 Xpressmusic or Nokia 5230 or SE W705 walkman phone?

My Requirements

1) same size as my old Nokia 8250

2) Longer battery life

3) Camera (3 MP hopefully )

I'm looking at one phone that might interest me... Nokia 6700... read some feedback at hardwarezone forum.. looks good.. but buttons a bit flat to press.. unlike my 8250. Why they made so flat anyway?

The 5MP camera is a big attraction for many i think:)

Hi, just want to know if you have bought your new phone. I had been dealing with phones for almost 2years. nokia 5800 is a cool phone, however in terms of how long it will last, i dare not say it will last more than 2years even with careful use. nokia 5230 is an average phone, however from my experience, newer phones are not made to last. I have many complaints from SE phone users that the usb/charging port tends to become loose after 1year or so. i have tried samsung jet and i notice the touch screen is relatively insensetive. in my opinion, lg is getting better and better, in terms or quality and battery life. If you are looking for a phone to last, i recommend n73. You need not worry about battery life as all phones can nowadays can be easily used for 2-3 days(provided you buy a new one) 5mp is an attraction to many, but its quality cannot be compared to a camera. hope this helps

I just bought the Nokia 6730 as no-contract phone for $300.. no memory card given.. so i bought one myself if not cannot donwload songs , videos etc..

I didn't realise a few Nokia phones also got 3.2 MP camera like Nokia 5630 Xpressmusic.. but it seems to have a fixed price plan?? i went singtel online shop and can't find the plan i using ... haiz..
