Just today I called 1626.
No problem except for navigating several layers, Press 1 for
English, Press 2 for blah blah blah and so on, until I got to
customer service, and then the 'your-call-is-important-to-us'
wait.
Today is my lucky day because I did not have to wait long, when
the someone answered, I didn't catch the name, buy the accent was
heavily Indian. I was thinking the call centre might
be in Bangalore.
The problem was easily solved.
I used a fixed line phone to call 1626, as my mobile cannot call
out. There was a small number 2 at the top left hand corner of the
screen of my Nokia.
The Call Center gal said that was the line that only allows
calls to come in and not make calls out. It is a safety feature. I
only need to press the # key and hold, and the dialog box [Change
Out Going Phone Line?] appeared. Press OK and the number
2 is gone, and my Nokia is back to normal.
She explained that I can alternate between the two
options this way.
I was very pleased with her.
