SingTel continues to lead the Singapore telecommunications
market.
The company's total mobile customer base grew to nearly three
million in 2008.
This is an increase of 26 per cent compared to the year
before.
In a statement, Singapore's largest phone operator also reported
a continued good take-up of Apple iPhone 3G.
It said the demand for 3G services remain strong, with 71,000
new subscribers.
Singtel's total 3G mobile subscriber base reached 1.1 million at
the end of last year.
The Group also announced that its combined regional mobile
customer base reached 232 million.
Singtel has a customer base in seven other markets - Australia,
Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Pakistan, the Philippines and
Thailand.
