The Copen is a combination of a roadster and the economy kei car size. It features a 16 valve, 659 cc engine with 4 cylinders and is turbocharged to provide strong response from as low as 2,000 rpm.

The Copen comes equipped with an electronically operated aluminium hard-top that can convert the car from hard-top to open-top with a single push of a button. With the top down, all-round visibility is excellent and parking is easy, with visual reference points at every corner.

The Copen weighs only 840kg, and offers excellent fuel economy. It is claimed to achieve 17km/l. Though a small and minimalist car, the Copen comes with standard ABS and dual front airbags.

its not cheap actually..u are paying for something that's slow and small..its underpower too..
but it sure make ppl stare at the car.68k, iwont even buy it..i would go for something like a honda

That,too,justifies the worthiness of getting this car at 68k.
Other "normal" cars that are sold ard that value (i.e Sunny,Civic 1.6 etc) can already pass the 100mph(170km/h) mark Laughing

but the main thing in sg is u cant exceed 100km/h. so in singapore is not how fast u can go but how fast u can reach 100km/h. there are pros and cons for this small car. pros is it look lik a sports cars, it grab attention, cheapest to get a car wif a retractable top. but the cons is can sit 2 people only. but too bad sg and japan onli came out the copen with a 660 cc turbocharged engine in order to meet Japanese kei car regulations. but other countries it is fitted wif a 1.3L engine. so it might be the same power as a RX-8. Nonsense man haha my friend's GTti 993cc only has 200 odd Bhp and due to the light chassis the copen can have pretty impressive acceleration boosting at 1.5bar lol.

If I'm not wrong they share the same engine as the Mira where malaysians like to drop into their Kancils =))

It's not really slow... top speed doesn't really relate to SG driving conditions. Torque is more like it. And going by its cc, it has really good power ratios. 140km/h is the regulated speed limit imposed by Japan manufacturers for kei cars, it can go beyond that actually.

Forget it lah. His concept of GOOD car is that it must be fast. $20k can go 200mph best. It should alter with age, since he is still young. I hope.
